  1. I just made a post in takeover_inc.'s thread "High roller to broke... Now what?" about playing for more than just the money. I have not been playing too well lately, and I think that in alot of ways, I am doing exactly what I say I shouldn't, and that is to turn off my brain each day and play strictly to make money. I have been getting angry at the tables (can't have that, I finally got my chat back on stars after a lengthy ban) and whether I win or lose, I end my sessions feeling tired and unhappy. I love poker. I love the many nuances of the game and the exquisite feeling of control when all of your moves are better than the next guy's. So, I woke up this morning with no plans for anything, but after reading and responding to a post about playing poker because you love the game, I think it's a good day for poker. I'm gonna have some fun today, starting with my $4.58 BR on Stars and see what happens. I can't tell you how many times I have turned 2 or 4 or 10 dollars into a thousand, so that's a possibility, but that's not really the goal today. My real goal is to have some fun playing poker and get my head straightened out. I have been struggling to figure out why I have been slumping so bad lately and it wasn't 'til I responded to that other post that I realized I was playing the game w/ no joy, having no fun. As TC always says, "I love poker!" -- That's something that's easy to forget when there are simply dollar signs in your mind, so today, I'm putting it all out of my head, and I'm gonna have some fun playing solid poker whether it be at the 1c/2c tables or if by some stroke of luck I cruise my way up to some higher limits.

Search me on Stars if you want to stop in and have some fun today.

    A_I, out.

  2. I think you've got the right attitude. Learn everything you can, and have as much fun as possible while doing so.

    Have fun today.
  3. hey AI , nice post man. Sometimes we forget that this game is supposed to be fun , and that ruins it .

Have a ball today ........ if I wasn't at work today I'd def come slum it with ya.
  4. Hey man, I withdrew my whole bankroll so I've been working on building a new one... I've got classes today but I'll be back in about 3 hours... (It's 9:30 central time) If you're around, I may come join you. You playing limit or no limit? You may have said but I don't feel like checking right now, heh... Anyways, people need to read this post, I used to have the same problem and it affected me in the same way... Good post AI -Sok
  5. i had the same thing happen to me i was playing 1/2 nl and 20-$30 buy in mtt's and just getting bored making stupid moves and generally not enjoying myself/gettin angry when my hands got turned over by someones flush draw. then one day i thought if im going to lose money when i get bored why not lose less and sit at a lower table?..so i dropped down to 10/25c nl on poker.com, since then i started enjoying it again and my game has picked up once again. ive also refused the temptation to move back up levels which may or maynot be a good thing?.
  6. Hey man, nice post. Have a good time! When I'm feeling this way I usually go blow off some change at the Omaha tables 'cause it makes me laugh to know how horrible I am at plo. Heck, I may come join you. My nose is feeling a little out of joint today too.

f negativity ... (hmmm, I guess that's sort of an oxymoron, so ...)

gg positivity ... (ok, that just sounds dumb) ...

Up With People! ... (eh, now I'm just embarrassing myself)
  7. Well, thanks to a nice turn of events, I have a bit of a BR with which to play. 25 bucks woot woot! I'm def. gonna be rocking the $2 NL at 14:32, and some SnGs, so let me know if you want to get into some non-holdem SnG fun.

  12. Well, looks like 38, and I think I'm done for the day. It's been a long day, but def. a success. Played about 60 dollars of MTTs and had a chance to be at 150 but took some beats in my only 50 dollar heads up match of the day. Thanks for anyone who stopped by to say hi, I might have missed some of you as I was busy being a nuisance on various other P5s threads. I might post something later if I decide i had any mind shattering revelations about the day, but for now, I'll just say it was a good day and I'm looking forward to playing some big tourneys this weekend.
