Seat 4: nikki222c (big blind) showed [Jh 2s] and lost with a pair of Jacks
Seat 5: Stu_Hunger folded on the River
Seat 6: nels15 (button) showed [Qd 9d] and won ($70) with two pair, Queens and Nines

I felt this was a clear fold with such a scary board and three opponents staying to the river, but was sickened to see my opponets hands.

Is it worth calling here in future, even though there are still two players behind me, any of which could still raise.

I think the laydown would have been the correct move in a higher limit game.

    This one puzzled me.
  2. Come on people - I know its boring reading hand histories but I really need advice.

    Two things to consider:
    1) You were being offering 10+ to 1 on the river
    2) The guy lead $6 on the turn and lead $6 on the river, I'm not putting him on a 10, although the guy's actions smooth calling behind him are rather scary. I'm calling that small $6 bet unless I have a super read on the players and am confident they're value betting the straight.

Also... I'm raising on that turn to see where I'm at for sure.
  4. ez call, its doubtful the initial raiser had a 10....and if the guys behind him do/flush....u can simply fold when they start capping but 6 bucks to win 70...come on. BTW whwy didnt u raise on the turn
  5. I have to say, I gave some thought to raising the turn but several hands scared me. KQ, A10 and 910 are all hands that any of my opponents could have and didn't want to build a big pot if they did. I just wanted to see it down to the river as cheaply as possible, thinking that I probably had the best hand. Unfornunately, the ultimate scare card came on the river and foiled my plan.

  6. Also, for me to call on the river I would have to believe my hand was best at least one time in ten. In my experinence, in this situation, this is borderline at best and I would also have to be certain nobody was going to raise behind me, since it would then be an auto-fold after donating another $6 to the pot.

  7. 1) Raise turn--- you HAVE to be raising here with two pair at a $3/$6 limit table, granted there are times you will be beat, and lose a big pot to a nut striaght, but raising here will help you make a better decision on the river... raising the turn will most likely isolate the filed, so you dont get stuck in the middle on the river.

As played, i call river and fold to a raise OBV. i think your hand is good at least the 1 in 10 times to make a river call correct in your case. without riasing your opponents can hold literally any 2 cards (as you see from the results)...
