Table had been pretty aggressive, i know improved is a really good reg.
When he calls my raise from the button i put him on a middle pair, JTs, KQs, suited connectors etc..
When he calls my bet on the flop my line of thinking was that he had a middle pair or some sort of suited connecter..
The turn comes the king of diamonds bringing the 4 flush...he thinks im a straight forward player and if i had AK, AA, QQ etc i would prob double barrel this turn.. I decide to min check raise the turn.. i know this could mean to him im trying to buy a cheap river card and i could be drawing with AQd, QTd something like that. He calls the turn and the river is basically a brick.
Now this is the part i want to get some feedback on. I decide to shove the river making it look like i either have KK or a missed draw.. and maybe i can get called with worse...i think my line can look very much like a big draw... he ends up tanking for a while before making the call with 55. No suprise there however i still think i played the hand ok and could get called by worse in the future...what do you guys think????
P.S this was the $320 50k on UB..
I dunno i could be completely wrong about this hand and it could of been a bad play..thoughts plz! -
I don't know why you check raise the turn. And no way you can really shove the river imo.

I say spew. -
not being results orientated i think when i check raise the turn he can have alot of draws...as can i...if i made this play with AK and i thought he was drawing i would of checked the river. Thats why i like the shove on the river because im only representing really 1 hand and if he thinks that im drawing then a call could be reasonable on the river? am i wrong or can u see some sort of logic?

I would have led on the turn, and if I get a call, then I might check call a small bet on the river. I would probably fold tho. Seems like a pretty dry board.
-
When you take that line you pretty much ruin any value your hand has and turn it into a bluff in a spot where you should have alot of showdown value most of the time. And obv improved always has it lol
-
whats calling you that youre beating?
-
ATdd, 99...i think my line does look like either air or a monster...and if im only repping really 1 hand i think he could find a call there... thinking about it now it is a pretty bad line..was just looking for insight into the hand bcos when he tanked the river i really thought i had him...i put him on a middle pair or a draw...say he has 9Tdd...or if he thinks i thought he had a draw...why would i then shove the river? if he thinks this then i think he could find a call with a worse hand...i dunno
-
total spew, you're getting rid of worse hands and only getting called by hands that beat you; c/c turn and c/c or c/f river depending on betsize if you think he's taking you to value town.
also, change thread title: was this a good play...lol -
when he just called your min raise on the turn i would def check and called a small bet on river or fold depending on the size of his bet.

lol did u satelite in that? this play is terrible.. when he check raises the turn he has u beaten cause u could easily have AK and cbet the flop and hit the turn... he just was waiting for an A or K showing up... just wanted to write that he certainly has a set there, then saw u posted results, pls dont post them next time so all the people give u honest responses.. u can post results afterwards after u got some responses.. didnt really read what u wrote but going broke in a $320 with over 130BB and 2nd pair is just terrible.. u prolly think the leveling begins from the start of the tourney but ure wrong

edit: he didnt check raise, u check raised, excuse me for having it wrong in mind, still after he flats the turn u have to be on C/f mode or call a small bet on the river, with that big pot he wont fire a small bet on the river so just fold -
yes, yes it was.
-
JJ is great cuz it's easy to know when your beat. After he calls your flop bet maybe some high Ax stays that you beat but the K should have dissuaded any further loss. Why are you in thus tourney? Real question
-
vs improved bad play. C/R on turn is def horrible you get only called by better C/C turn C/C or C/F river second his sizing just remember he aint never bluffing there that early in a pot like that plus if he has somekind of value he check back turn or river to pot control.and river bet is horrible you only get called by better not rly making fold any better hand either
