i call the raise flop comes 10h 8s 4h
he raises 3000
i ponder and make the call, turn comes 8c
he ponders and checks i lead out 3000 he takes his time and calls (i think hes on the flush draw)
river is 6h he pushes all in i got 2/3rds of my stack invested
what do i do he could have ak or many different combos or various other hands in the SB -
Here's the thing. You raised only 3000 on the turn when you thought you were winning and now you are thinking of calling off the rest of your stack becuase you feel committed even though he hit exactly the card you fear (a heart).
So the real question is, why didn't you just push all in on the turn? If you are going to call off the rest of the chips anyway, why not get them in and gain a little fold equity? Not to mention, if he was on a flush draw or open ended straight draw, you only bet 3000 into a pot with 9000 in there so the guy is calling 3000 to win the 1200 already in the pot so he was getting the odds he needed.
While I think you shouldn't have gotten yourself into this situation, I think now that you are here there is really no way you could be winning.
The 6 of hearts completes both flush and straight draws. It would be a really strange play for him to attempt to bluff you at this point because you've invested a lot of money into the pot. What else could he have? If he had a T and was calling because he was scared of a better kicker, why would he all of a sudden grow a pair after a card like the 6h came on the river?
