Gank and others seem to love self promoting online poker accomplishments, so what the hell... I just made TWO CONSECUTIVE FINAL TABLES in the 2AM NL tourney on UB.com in back-to-back nights. This is impressive to myself because the field was around or over 400 PLAYERS both times I attempted this. I took 2nd in the first and a not too shabby 8th in the second.
Anyways, I just wanted as many of your 55.com'ers to post here in 2-3 LINES what you think the greatest poker accomplishment online has been for yourself or a ranked player you have seen over the past year or so! Let's see what you got to say. -
---I personally think that BIGSLICK789 winning TWO $10+1 Rebuy NL Tourney on pokerstars in the same day is the best accomplishment I have seen. (HUGE FIELDS)
--(Notable mention to NSXT2 for winning both $20,000R&A and $50,000 on Paradise I think.) -
Winning with AA 7 times in a row is my greatest accomplishment.
-
I'll bite and take this seriously...
I made two consecutive final tables in UB $30+3 4k gauranteed tournaments with over 400 entries in the same sunday (7th and 4th). I only played the second one on a lark because I was so pissed off at making it so far in a tournament and only coming in 7th place that I knew I could do better. -
My greatest accomplishment pales in comparison to many of these guys...
But, I'd say finishing in the top 2 of the Paradise 50K guaranteed 4 times in 120 tournies played is my best accomplishment, considering the fields were anywhere from 500-811 people when I did it. I've made about $35,000 in profit in 6 months of that tourney alone. -
For me I'd have to say it was back to back final tables in the Bodog $25k -- 2nd place and 4th place.
-
I haven't accomplished anything near what these guys have except for an 8th place finish (out of 1830) in a party 250K for $7300.
I can say that the winner of that tourney, Dr_zoidberg2 from Party, went on to win the same 250K tourney the very next Sunday. He bested fields of 1800+ and 1700+ to do so. -
Dont know so much about them "ranked players", but i think TWO CONSECUTIVE FINAL TABLES by him Dumb Walrus on UB in back-to-back nights is pretty impressive.
-
Zoidberg was definitely the biggest I've heard of.
Personally, my top 3:
November 2004 I won the Paradise 50k on back to back nights
I won the Paradise 50k at least once in 6 straight months
One night I played 4 events and made it to the final 6 in three of them. It's tough playing deep in three tournies at the same time. Short-handed requires a lot of concentration.
I've never won two tourneys on the same day, but that would be cool. -
Nothing will ever touch how many times BrSavage won Aruba. For that fact how many times Poker Ho, WestTexasMan, Loewa79, EasyH, KK and myself did. Collectively we won over 60 of them. We won so much that people like Helen complained and they don't do it anymore. That is why I hate petitions, last year there was so much buzz around the Aruba's this year hardly any, I know BR and myself don't play them at all. Even with them being transferrable that is not a ton of incentive for people to play twice.
If there is any one single thing that has taken away the collective community on UB this was it. You could count on 40 people in them every week. Now those 40 people are on the bench. And once they win one they are off to other sites to qualify for their events.
Honorable mention goes to Legggggggy who won like 5 in 2 weeks. Bax's WSOP accomplishment is also flat out unreal, winning so many seats. Just goes to show you though the sheer volume will often show results, some times those results are insane. -
Everything that guy Riverloser does is pretty ridiculous....ive seen the guy at like 8 final tables in one day and he usually places high in them too....The guy is ridiculouso fo shizzle....and everyone remember one thing....this conversation never happened.
-
I also placed 81st in a tournament with 87 people in it...I was very impressed with myself....this conversation never happened.
-
Beanie, There you go again! I did NOT complain about anyone winning too many Arubas! I simply gave them a new alternative marketing strategy which they apparently thought (as did MANY others) was a good idea, namely the First Time Aruba Tourney for those who hadn't won! It only cost $25 with rebuys and was a good tourney! At NO time did I suggest or hint that they shouldn't allow multiple winners!!!! Now PLEASE stop using me unless you are telling the truth!
-
bigslick789 also got 2nd in the 150 on stars for another 6 or 7k that same day. I believe he won 25k between those 3 tournaments....solid.
SailorLobell won the UB 200 in consecutive weeks in 2004, when a $10k Aruba package was added on for first prize both weeks, so he won about 26k both of those weeks. Dr_Zoidberg2's consecutive wins on party....that is the greatest accomplishment I have seen in terms of pure domination. In terms of domination and cash combined, it probably is brainwash's amazing 3 weeks he noted below. Another of note is Ragde, winning the WCOOP main event last year and also winning $175k by getting 2nd in the $2500 on ladsbroke. -
hey:
in 2003 when i was chasing the tlb at stars i used to play all
the cheap tourneys there. One saturday I played the 10 am
limit holdem $1 tourney and won it for a whopping $63.
For some reason i decided to take all my winnings and play the
$50 nlhe that started right after i won. I won that one also for over
$2800.
There have been other days in a long poker career when I have
won more money or even placed in more events in the same day.
But to me, nothing can top the day i only played two events and
won them both for a 2800 to 1 parlay.
seal -
I came in 4th in 3 consectuive $100 SNG's.
-
i had back to back final tables in the party 50 MTT, the first was a 3rd with 680, and the second was an 8th with 140. Other then that my best week was 4 final tables in a week, all either 50 MTT's or 30 MTT's.
I sometimes play higher limits but can't seem to win - lost the 100+9 yesterday to an overset - gg me.
-
I was told personally that they were taken away because of that particular request from the people who make those decisions. That is the truth. Without the complaints from the people (like you) I doubt it would have been ever considered a problem. There is no question the majority of people wanted a better shot at winning though that decision directly reflected on some of UB's best customers. How do you think I knew it was you that made that suggestion, did I just pull your name out of hat and get lucky?
BTW, how did that suggestion work for you? -
Loewa79 back to backed the KK special.
-
I repeat! "At NO time did I suggest or hint that they shouldn't allow multiple winners!!!! " What they chose to do about multiple wins was not my decision. My suggestion was "in addition, to supplement, an alternative" NOT to replace!
Since when is a suggestion a complaint????? -
Its just like hand histories, you like the idea of being able to see people's hand histories because you are curious. It doesn't matter to you that they are selling Poker Ho's info so people know how to play him better at a cheap cost. Just because you don't think of the final action doesn't mean your suggestion wasn't the cause of it.
In your defense, UB did have an overlay and they needed to fill those spots so in no way was your suggestion the only reason, it just happened to be the only reason mentioned when I asked. Clearly this year they have no overlay, therefore, the only reason they would do it would be to discourage us from playing. Making the packages transferrable has no affect IMO of trying to get us back. -
Do you not see that it is a complaint to say I can't beat these players can you make a system for me that I can beat somebody?
-
Didnt see anyone mention DJDaveCees back to back 20k victories and BrooDoggs run recently has been flat out awesome. Also Bax's 5 wsops seats per day for 3 weeks or whatever it was a few weeks ago was pretty impressive too!
My best ever was winning a seat to WPT Champ and Bay 101 on the same night on Dise last year, although that owed more to luck than skill. -
yeah, i 2nd that...WOW. nice.
-
I heard Carlos Mortensen, under two different screen names, won the $200 and $500 stars sunday tourneys in consecutive weeks.
thats pretty sick -
my greatest accomplishment is on Ultimate Bet...where i took my last .32 cents turned into $5.50 and bought myself into a Stud Tournament and came in 3rd place for $268 then turned around the next night and bought into it again, after playing 2/4 stud the whole day, and then won it for $783 and played from one day for 3 straight days with the money and finally ended up playing 15/30 stud the rest of the month and cashed out plenty of money...i only started playing poker 3 years ago too....
-
No, I don't! Do you see any reason for minor leagues? Why not just dismantle minor leagues in baseball so that ONLY great players can play--not people trying to get better so they can get up to the major leagues. I think that is an apt analogy.
As for your remarks about my being ONLY a "railbird" not a real money player, check out this URL : (long link)
It wouldn't let me copy & paste the real money history BECAUSE IT WAS TOOOOOOOOOO LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, but you're welcome to view it.
Beanie, If you have anything further to say to me, why not just email me at HelenRNurse@yahoo.com and avoid cluttering up these boards with personal animosity? Please?
I have no idea what I've ever done to you to provoke such venom and I don't relish arguments, but I will respond when you attack me.
I made a suggestion which they took, NOT a complaint! The End (I hope)
