Yeah, doubt that $1.5M is gonna be much after paying backers and the IRS.

Wonder if he'll be lucky enough to clear six figures after everything is said and done.
  4. After reading Cardplayers coverage of the HU match, he didn't solidify anything...........

Didn't he just win over 100k in scoop to? Pretty sure he plays poker for a living. So if this lets him pay off debt/house etc etc I believe that would be the point of why he got in it. Dont hear about lawyers that make 100k a year and people saying "hopefully he got to put 15k in the bank by the end of the year after living expenses and everything." Goddamn haters..............Congrats grinder dude had less than 1 mill 3 handed and cl had 8 mil.

Didn't read or follow it. It is possible he was making an observation though. Sometimes people run white hot/don't play particularly well and still win. Perhaps his comment was the opposite of ignorant.

Congrats to the Grinder either way.
  8. He's an ok dude. I was not aware of any financial issues he had but if winning helped him out witht hat then good job and congrats.
  9. The guy just shipped a 50k buyin mixed game tournament, and you guys are saying hes lucky? Hes a great player stop hating, I wish it was me too, but im not gonna take anything away from him.

    WP Grinder !
  10. he has never came off as arrogant or a prick like most big time winners. Hes always been very modest and down to earth it seem, and im glad he won.

Its kinda of funny that the 2plus2 guys all thought that Bakes had it on lock including Bakes himself. All the 2plus2 dudes were braging how he was gonna crush the final table due to it being strickly NL holdem. LOL. Funny how bakes got his lunch eaten by everyone else. That arrogant kid deserved to go out 8th or 7th. Grinder FTW!

Not a hater, never said he sucked or isn't great, just saying this final table seems to be a him running really well, that's all. I'm going to assume you never looked at the HU HH from Cardplayer......
  12. he's def. a gentlemen, good for him!
  13. Some quick math tells me that since he was likely backed and owed the IRS $300k (I think that's what I read) then he netted approxomately $1,500 for the win. Well done sir!

Ur a hater AND bad at math. Dunno about his financial situation but if he was in trouble like everyone is saying what a win, what a comeback story.
  15. Who cares if he was in debt to his eyeballs and ran like a kenyan to win? Congrats on winning a tournament which could arguably could have had the toughest field in any tournament this year.
