Here are the results from the grosvenor first leg. The winner is a WSOP bracelet holder from 2006 Praz Bansi. I managed to finish 4th but wasnt aware if any other pocketfivers were at the event. 197 runners paid £1000 to enter (about $2000) - the final table was televised and will be shown from August on a weekly basis leading up to the finals in London in December. The final is a $6000 buy in and should have 400+ runners.

The next event starts on the 15th of February see http://www.grosvenorukpokertour.com/
    for more info.

The tv table seated 9 and it was quite strange having a camera under the glass looking at the hole cards and seeing your expressions for the tv viewers. The post game commentary should be interesting as they will get someone like Jesse May or one of the hendon mob to do the commentary.

I got to the final table in 3rd position but got no cards for 20-30 hands so watched as Praz and Karl built up 2 large stacks. Between them they dominated play at the final table. Twice I tried busting smaller stacks and twice I failed. The tournament was well held and the massages obtained from the girls were most welcome particularly during the 13 hours of day 2.

Let me know if any of you are going to Walsall for the 2nd event as I will be there.

  4. Hi Murderer - i'm not really a brit I am afraid - have a heavy kiwi accent so would never get away with it. Are you going to any of the events?

  5. I doubt it. I may do if they are stopping off at Southampton.

  6. you are not wrong about Praz. He was very aggressive particularly when he had chips not to feel threatened. Simon Nowab was strong too but couldnt boss the final table as he was a short stack. Its going to be shown on Channel 4 and you will see 1 of the most hilarious hands ever televised between Ray Wyre and Alan Lawson. (wont spoil it)
