I've been on a few trips with bwin over the last few years and they have went out their way to do anything they can for you.

I even had luggage lost on a flight and they sorted clothes etc out.

Judging from my experience with bwin he will have won ( buy in , hotel & cash towards traveling expenses ) from the outset this guy must have booked his flights assuming he would bust out , with cash towards the flight ticket he should have booked the proper dates to begin with , im 100% sure bwin would have sorted him with accomodation/food etc but booking the correct flight dates to begin with would have been down to him.

I just want to go on record: I agree that this story sounds completely ridiculous and like someone else said, there are literally 100 alternatives I could think of instead of leaving behind a healthy stack at the biggest and most prestigious poker event of the year. However, it came straight from the WSOP website, written as shown.

Absolutely mind boggling.

Was his girlfriend with him? Could she have precipitated this? Whipped man of the decade possibility if so?

How do you not just play Ante Up For Africa, feel good about giving to charity and meeting all these top poker peoples, and profit 5k from the trip? It's pretty mind-bottling.

yeah, what marky said. i won a package with bwin, you get money towards flights and they do everything else for you. they were awesome on my package, had everything sorted and they do activities with you and all sorts. in fact if bwin had their promotions reps running the actual site they'd probably stop doing so much retarded stuff with their software and tourney schedule and actually make some money. shoutout to big kristian, much man love.

100% this is all on this guy for being a retard when booking his own flights/work/gf or whatever other lame excuses he has. oh, and you can't take the $10k with them, so he has to play. also on another side note when i book my flights to vegas it costs me $50 NZD to change the day of my flight, i do it every year as I never know when exactly i'll feel like coming back. it's most likely work i would think that is the biggest stumbling block, but obv he's a bit retarded anyway so who knows?

i cannot describe to you how tilted i am reading this story. i would have slept IN THE bellagio fountains after buying a pool float with my last remaining euros for the remaining of the trip while surviving on crackers peanuts and free drinks at the tables...WHAT THE FUCK i want to punch this guy in the face.

Yes, but only for non-US players

Pretty sad that whatever site he qualified on would not extend the package if you are in the money. They have a chance to hold a potential world champ in the tournament and what does it cost them a mear pitance compaired to the amount of rake and entry fees gained on any given day. This should however change the format for future live event qualifyers so it does have a possitive aspect but what a shame to loose your chance over a simple fix.

Pretty hard to even get in without the propper documents proving your age. The registration form is an extensive application basically.

I am kind of suprized the RIO or Harra's didn't make a deal with him as they should have. They could put him on marker status since they already know they will be paying him in the near future.
