I'm really not sure about AIM or gMail
Facebook support will take care of you pretty quickly, just set your message to urgent and have a self explanatory subject line.
sorry to hear you have to deal w/ such BS -
Best of Luck to Cronic420
Hope everything gets worked out. -
I assume you've already contacted all the sites you play on and had them freeze your accounts until you get this resolved?
As for your gmail account, try this.
glgl -
fwiw id save your buddy list onto your computer and go ahead and get a new AIM name.
If this guy got your password on this account, Im sure he can get your new Password.
A for gmail and facebook....PM Chipsteela iirc he went thru this process a while back.
gl with everything -
Make sure you completely clean your cpu before using any passwords again.
Getting your accounts back with new passwords is worthless if the hacker still has control of your system, as he will just get them again.
If you aren't a computer-savvy type, I suggest bringing it in to the geek squad and having them resolve the issue.
Also, if you are a Mozilla user, be VERY careful if you have passwords saved on your system. You can check out how easy it is to get peoples passwords on Mozilla by:
Tools >>> Options >>> Security >>> Saved Passwords >>> Show Passwords.
You'd be amazed how many people have ALL OF THEIR PASSWORDS saved on their computer, and easily accessible. I suggest using a master password as an extra precautionary measure, especially if ANYONE else uses your computer from time to time.
Goodluck...

holy shit.. that sucks man..
any idea if google chrome is safer? -
thats so fucked up man

pretty sure im getting everything taken care of....as of right now i have recovered everything, and my facebook account is being investigated. The only thing the hacker was able to do was get about $200 of of ultimate bet, and had a couple of my friends (non poker players) running to western unions....pretty sure i got a hold of all them before they shipped. For future reference, i would never ask anyone for a favor like sending me money through some sketchy im's or facebook.

Wow man glad to hear you are getting it all resolved, what a miserable POS that guy is
-
That sucks and sorry to hear you had to go through this!
One thing though, and Im not trying to be a dick here, by why do people still use AIM? How many posts do you see people saying their msn or yahoo was hacked? I dont recall seeing one post yet. However, there have been a ton of posts where people say their AIM got hacked.
If AIM is that easy to hack, why continue to use it? -
This sucks. I work for an information security company, and the sad thing is, hackers are only getting more organized. It's not just kids in a basement anymore. I've seen pictures from a party a particular eastern european group had that was literally a "President's Club" type of atmosphere where they awarded their top earners and gave the top one a new Benz. There are sites with pricing lists for various types of malware that can be bought and deployed a la cart.
This type of attack seems like someone close to you since they knew about your personal life though. Might want to check who has been on your comp and what they're been in. -
And to address mesaplayers' question, it isn't really that AIM is being hacked. It's fairly simple to plant a trojan key logger on someone's machine and have it send everything that is entered to that machine to a remote server. All they're looking for is your password and a lot of times once they have that they'll blue screen you or at least lock you out so while they're draining your funds you're busy trying to figure out what's going on with your computer.
