  1. Ok this hand happened in a Live tournament I was at, I was not in the hand as i obv shoved T3s on a limper and got called by QJs but anyways.

    $500 Buy in

    10k Starting Stack

    13 Players started

Down to 6 Handed top 3 get paid

SB is an online cash game grinder that plays multiple tables of 1/2 NL, but doesn't have too much tournament experience, but has played the tournament pretty aggressive.

BB has a lot of tourney experience, plays pretty nitty.

    Blinds 500/1000 antes 100, average stack 21.6k

Folded around to SB who has 21k

    Limps in pot for 1k

BB has a stack 28k, has AQ offsuit raises to 4k

    SB shoves all in.

What is your move from BB? Call or Fold obv? discuss please

    thank you for discussing
  2. Knowing if there were several small stacks or not might make a difference. Overall though, I can't see any reason why we would raise to 4k then fold, especially with a hand as strong as AQo. Although its nearing the bubble, BB player will still have 7 bbs left if he loses the hand. AQo sounds like it is reasonably ahead of SB's pushing range here, and when you factor in the 8600 in the pot already, it becomes a relatively easy call.

  3. If I was the BB I would look at it this way....

Unless I had given the SB reason to believe that I would auto-raise his limp, it is highly unlikely that the SB has AA, KK, or QQ. Additionally, it is very unlikely that he has AK because if he had that and chose to see a flop instead of raise, then he could still choose to see a flop relatively cheaply.

Therefore, I'd assume that he either has a small or medium pair that he won't lay down and was hoping to see a flop with OR he is putting the BB on a steal and is pushing with a couple semi-connected live cards.

    I would call this shove.

(the SB would then turn over JTs, hit a ten on the turn and cripple me)
