  1. were both 2 of the deeper stacks.

I could have folded preflop clearly, but i didnt.

    whats more longterm profitable
    -betting flop, folding to c/r
    -check flop, call down
    -another way

  2. I play it the same way.
  3. tough hand since you know youre getting reraised on that flop with a million hands

  4. You cant think playing this hand the way you did you could exploit someone who is really good at poker. IMO you cant beat shit by the river if he's value betting you this hard but then again, i woulda never made it this far into the hand without getting more money into the pot.
  5. I really like ur line.

  6. I play it same way fo sheez.
  7. I liked the way you played it, I thought it was practically perfect.
  8. agree with everyone i thought u played it perfect.

  9. Hardly say perfect... but optimal

  10. perfect = instamuck pre

as played i don't mind it but i prob fold river. i just can't imagine being ahead that often. he is rarely bluffing IMO.

  11. IDK You kind of cant put him on anything that you beat other than a flush draw on the turn but I dont think that PP is going to be calling down with a flush draw but I dont play with him so I cant really tell.
  12. I was at the table and it seemed perfecto to me but optimal is def. a better word for it. :-)
  13. I like..............I def. bet this flop some of the time to mix it up and not give away to my opp. what I have. When you check back this flop he's usually gonna put you on right about what you have or some sort of pair+straight draw type hand, so I like betting flop some of the time for deception value, but certainly a check is fine. I like turn and river.

  14. A6 in middle position is a little to wide for me. alot of times your getting called by hands that dominate you and can easily get yourself into big trouble if you hit that dominated card (the ace)

that said, post flop you played it perfectly, nothing you could do.
  15. I know I'm a donk, but would it really be so easy for Pokerpro to call a shove on the river assuming the flop and turn were played the same way?
  16. considering i don't think he's EVER checking two pair or a set on that flop after he checks broadway to him, no it wouldn't be hard.
  17. Even raising pre is solid given it's getting deeper in the tournament and you have one of the deep stacks, calling him down is exactly the way to play it because he's obviously calling pre with broadway cards or a pair and he's a tricky player who might pop you with a lot of hands to that flop. wp.
  18. Yes because hero has a boat almost never. He would have to be checking behind a set or two pair on the flop. I mean no way would I fold KQ there ever.
  19. GREAT POST and great comments from great players..

WE NEED MOVE OF THIS ON HERE
  20. seems pretty standard.
  21. After your turn call, he continues to bet into you. What do you beat other than a pair-missed draw combo or missed flush. I think a fold on the river is reasonable unless you have a read on villian having air here. And obv you have a read because you called his hand in the chat.
  22. I play it the same on every street
  23. i told gb i would play it the same. but i feel like when i check flops like this or say JJ on a QTx board im almost tying myself into calling on later streets.
  24. i agree and would play the hand the same way...my point was just to take things a step further.....
considering that these are 2 thinking players gb has got to ask himself what hand pokerpro would likely be calling with out of the small blind against another big stack. KQ is definitely a possiblility. So on that flop, assuming pokerpro puts him on a big ace, is it not entirely possible that gb would check behind in the hopes that the board would pair? When the board does pair would GB get any action if he did reraise the turn? When smooth called does that definitely tell pokerpro that he has AK/AQ?

My point is only that yes, against non-thinking players, GB took the optimal line. However, against GB i don't think pokerpro could call a shove with KQ as played, because he knows that theres no way GB is shoving anything that broadway beats.

Knowing you are up against a person who's game you respect, what does everyone here do if the river is shoved and you are pokerpro??? I maintain that a call is not so simple.
  25. I thought this was an interesting hand as well gb but I agree with what the majority said and that you played it optimally. I think you could possibly fold river to an extremly tight player but never someone like me. I would have played it the same way.
