What should I do here? The guy plays 30/23.3 and I'm 99% sure he bets a set on the flop.

He has 56 - maybe hearts. You're beat. Fold.
Edit - he might have 76hh too, but not any queen or set, two pair of any sort is unlikely. Check flop seems to represent something he doesn't want raised/bet off.
Edit 2 - maybe case 4? maybe 74?
I say uhhh <10% set of 4s, 15% 74, 30% 65 (maybe hearts), 45% flush draw/gutshot + one pair.
He doesn't have a Q is the only thing i can say for 99% sure. -
fold preflop
-
i'd call here..if ur 99% sure he bets out his sets, snap call..i tihnk ur gonna see a lot of random one pair/bluff type hands in this spot, and if he did back into a straigh or some weird 2 pr., oh well. resultss???
EDIT: missed the fl draw on the turn, adds a lot more hands to his range that ur ahead of.. -
if your really that sure he bets out his sets then you kind of have to call here because the only hand that beats you is 56, however I certainly dont feel too good with bottum two in this spot. On a side note, Nestegg1 normally plays 10-20 and up and is the brother of Blitzforce, if any of you are familar with that maniac.

LAG morons can't slowplay? This seems like a telegraphed QQ or 77 to me.
-
I never play cash so this could be way off but
what is the point of raising the turn if you are folding to a shove with a strong hand here.
I could understand i guess raising with complete air and then folding
but if you were planning on folding to a shove why not call the turn
and then call his bet on the river.
seems to me like you get more value that way then raising and folding
unless of course you are planning to call his shove. -
A set is not in this guy's range. He would play the straight this way and some type of combo draw with the heart. That said I probably call him cuz this guy is a spewtard
-
the only hands that play this way that you beat are KK and AA, is your opponent stupid? 30/23 doesn't mean much to me i guess
-
He had 56 right?
-
This is a pretty dum thread IMO,
You call/float the flop 34s, after someone raises it 4 times the bb
You are lucky enough to get your free card after the flop, even though you obviously woulda called any bet there anyways
You hit your miracle two pair on the turn and get buddy to put all his money in... and now you need advice on what to do.
What is the point of playing those cards if you fold after hitting. If he has you beat its unlucky, there are two flush draws and possible straight draws as well. ONly thing that beats you is set (doubtful) or 56 (possible, but not worth worrying about when you alreeady check raised half your stack in)
ON a personal level I hope he has you beat, and you stop making attention seeking threads
Thanks -
thank goodness you told us he was a 23.3 and not just a 23. this really helps. also, here's a HH which could help everyone make a decision:

finally, there is a hand advice forum. -
you guys could probably piss off if you dont like the posts. Not sure what you have against this guy, but this is a pretty interesting hand IMO. This is a pretty tough situation, as it seemed right off that there are only a few hands he would play this way that you have beat, and many that beat you. However, if he is competenet he doesnt check any sets on the flop, and it is very hard for him to have a larger 2-pair on this board despite the fact that he is a 30. He could have 56, which I think I would have to pay off; it is more likely he has an overpair or combo draw type hand that you are ahead of at the moment. Go ahead and stick it in, particularly with the advice that he is a "spewtard".
-
i'll not comment on 'attention seeking' and all that, but do agree with the above poster, if you are going to check/raise the turn after hitting your hand (which is a pre-flop fold most times i'd think), you have to call the shove. you hit and his range includes flush draws and even AQ i'd imagine if he put YOU on the flush draw (which is possible based on your check raise perhaps?)
if he does have the straight you have outs, and your read is "no set" by the guy, so i can't see where anything but a call of the shove is correct based on your play to this point. -
The only thing interesting is this gentleman's willingness to post his laggy calltard HHs out-of-topic looking for hand advice to justify his poor play.
Oh, and he calls out other people's play in his posts, so I (and obv several others) have no problem bashing the continued laggy calltard out-of-topic HHs.
You should spare us all the suspense. You called and lost to a better hand. -
He doesn't have two pair here, you said your read is that he would bet a set so those are out. The only hand you lose to is 56s, so I shove expecting to be ahead.
You beat a lot of his likely holding which are combo draws IMO. I don't think he checks the flop with AA, KK, AQ and if he did play those hands weird, you're ahead. -
You must have a horrendously tight table image if you're even considering folding this... he could have a better two pair but a flush draw is a huge part of his range and you're getting good odds.
-
ok i know this is a really basic concept but what is a 30/23.3???? pls dont flame
-
they're poker tracker stats. The first one is VPIP, (percentage of the time they voluntariy put money in pot) .
the second is preflop raising percentage
with no other reads these are the standard stats used to profile players
