This was a notable cooler hand from the WSOP. After watching the hand I asked myself if the guy with 10's could have saved himself from going broke and the answer is yes.

Firstly, I'll state that 10's given the board is too hard to throw away especially when there is a great chance your opponent might be holding an Ace, but after the raise to 1300. I think calling, then calling whatever the other player bets would be the best option. Since there is a strong possibilty of the other player having a full house. Was A10 and instacall given the possility of AQ? Yes it is because no player would ever go all in with it, because they would want maximum payoff on the river.
If I couldn't see the cards I would say player 1 had A10/AQ while player 2 had AK/AJ.
I wasn't sure about the min reraise on the flop, the guy will only fold if he's holding a weak hand, but if he calls you only know that with a 4x initial raise that he'll probably have a premium hand. On the flop the guy with 10's should have made a feeler bet just to see if the other guy was holding an Ace, so you're probably wanting to be 250/300 and will likely get a smooth call if he does. Then when the turn comes there is whole host of plays you could make. Personally I would check to try and induce a bluff if the other guy didn't have an Ace and then judging by whatever he bets I will call it, place a value bet on the river, get re-raised then call, and see the devasating news. I think this way I would only lose half of my stack instead of all of it. I'll still have a 100bb left so it's more than possible to recover afterwords. Of course midway/ late stages of a tournament it would be impossible not to go broke on this hand.
Thoughts anyone? -
One player is a pro and the other is some movie star who has never played poker before. I serious doubt he thought any more than hey look i have a full house. Im gonna win! I love watching this hand though. Cracked me up since the day I first saw it. Good analysis on your part though.
