A couple years ago I was playing on a site called jetsetpoker.com. I was playing in this go point tourney (10k buyin) and the winner got the Main Event package. When we got to like 4 handed I had abour 75% of the chips in play. I went on to lose every race, run bad and I don't remember winning a pot where I wasn't stealing blinds. Ended up 2cd for like $3500 or something like that... I always wondered what woulda happened if I won that seat as the fish that did busted day 1 of the ME...
WSOP circuit in New Orleans a few years ago.. This guy loses like 1/3rd of his stack the first hand. The next hand I am in the BB, obv I don't look at my hand until it's my turn to act as I watch the table. The idiot who lost 1/3rd his stack shoves. I make a comment that I am only calling with AA. Obv I look down and see AA. So I snap call. The idiot turns over 33. River was a 3. I ended up busting a few hands later when I shove from the button the BB called.
Back after JSP closed I switched to stars. I ran $200 up to like $3500 really quick. I was in a $55 MTT and was like 3rd in chips and we were like 12 handed. The chip leader who I watched just raise everyone got moved behind me. I pick up 88 on the button and make a normal raise, He instant ships his stack into the middle. I snap call. He has 79 off and spikes a 9. That woulda gave me a huge chiplead and surely a shot at top 3. -
Last years wsop prelim, the 2k buyin that justin bonomo got 3rd in. We are down to 14 and im in like 6th or 7th chip position. Worldsgreatests is on the shortstack and ships kj utg, i wake up with AA behind and go allin. Flops a king, turns a jack, rivers a king. It would have been nice playing for 545k or whatever but instead i was crushed for the rest of the wsop and couldnt find my A game/ran bad.

2006 M.E.
I have ~230K at 8/1600
I raise T8o in mp. BB, after a short deliberation, calls. We're 1 and 2 in chips at the table. He has ~160K. Flop: 974. He checks. I bet 10k. He thinks for a couple minutes and calls. Turn: J. I pray for a bet. Instead he ships ai for ~160k. I fall out of my chair calling. It would have been a lot of fun stacking those chips and among the chip leaders as we approached the bubble, but it was not to be. He had 44 and caught a '7 from heaven' on the river.
I battled back to 230K at one point later that day and ended Day 3 with in the mid-100s and got knocked out an hour into Day 4 after losing a race and bluffing off my chips with an ai squeeze. I had a few nice coolers go my way up to that point, so I can't be to disappointed. I was proud of myself that I didn't give up, but it would have been nice if it went the other way. -
The Bad Beat Pot Story - I was in the 5R or 10R on PS a while back with a top 5 stack with about 100 people left. UTG (loose player - been raising alot) raises 3X BB (cant remember blinds) and i stupidly call with KJ of spades and overall CL calls in BB. FLOP is Ad Qs 10s. I flop nuts with royal redraw. UTG bets 1/2 pot on flop, i flat of course with nuts to get CL in, and CL reraises big on flop. UTG tanks and folds. I shove, CL tank for a minute and calls with A-10 and rivers an ace. No - not the A of spades and I'm gone. I went outside and smoked 1/2 a pack in like 20 minutes as i imagined what i would have down with that 1st place money. I would have had a commanding 1st place chip lead....But I had my best tournament month this month so there's hope.
The Sweet Pot Story
This month, in early stages of 109 tourney on PS, i raise 3XBB with AJos in (way too) early position. A couple people call and BodogAri calls in BB. Flop is Q 10 and a blank with 2 clubs. I bet out out about 1/2 pot on flop and Ari makes a big raise with K-9 clubs. I have alot of chips so i peel a card off (donkey call). I hit the king. I check and Ari bets big with flush draw and Top pair. I shove, he calls and river is another king and i pick up monster early pot. I dont look back and i am the CL the rest of tourney. With 4 left, i chop for 5K straight (we left 10% on the table) and i go out in 4th for 2.4k. DAMN GOOD DECISION TO CHOP -

Went on to win for 74k, which is a pretty big deal to me. I don't think the rail wanted me to win though :(
Maybe someday i'll get my own rail... -
For a long time casual player like me, this one hurt. Basically I find myself in a bad $ spot, so I decide to use my super fun hobby to try and get out of it.
about 6 weeks ago Im playing in the $5.00R, there is 17 left Im running 3rd. I'm into the tourny for a total of $10.00(buy in plus add on)
I have simply played the best poker of my life. Im super aggressive, switching gears making moves etc. I really put it all together and Im looking at a massive chips stack with close to 8k for 1st, and I really like my chances.
and then I throw it all away on this awful crap hand.
What pisses me off the most is that for a read I had my opp. on over cards(AK), so no matter what I lose.
Also for those that think poker is all luck and no skill I think this hand illustrates the point nicely that skill still matters. Can u say fold pre? Enjoy:

hand that changed my life was on AP on may 26th, 2007, 64 ppl left, i had 88 in the bb, button raised, i shoved, he called (63 got paid), he had kk, gg i bubble... rivered an 8, i went on to FT, own the FT, got h/u w/ 55 vs AK to win my 1st and only race ever and be 37,500 richer and change my career forever... AP isn't so terrible
JDAWG -
Won two fpp sats to the 750K sunday on full tilt about a year ago. First buy in over 10$. Played really well, then about 10 from the bubble I am in top 50 in chips this happened. Only one guy at the table has me covered UTG open pushes for like 20bb, middle position (guy who has me covered) overpushes i look down at AA on the button i call all in for a chip leading pot. both show AQ, flop comes KJ10 and im out. odds are in the range of 98-99% depending on suits. This was the first hand in a year of playing online poker to visibly tilt me, my roommate nearly vomitted lol (im really laid back beats rarely affect me).

1100$ buyin in tampa. Oversold friday by 10 players, 10 players short of money. I have 39k. Blinds 1k-2k. Utg makes it 12k, and I am utg +1 with jj. I think what he is raising so much with, and I pin him on ak, and decide to take the race. Ace hits turn.
Wcoop 2nd chance 6max last year, with 50 or so left. I raise AA utg and being 3rd in chips. Small shoves, Big calls, both also in top 10 in chips. I snap call, small had k8, big had k9. Flop is k98, and I fail to improve. I am left crippled, instead of amassing a gigantic stack.
3$ triple shoot out final table.
4 players left, and we are basically all equal stacks, with me having slight advantage.
utg raises, I have ak, I shove, 4 way all in. UTG showed QQ and all us other 3 had AK. Ended up hittin a 4 card flush to my ace to win the tourney, was a strange way to suckout vs qq and not chop 3 ways.
