I tend to plat alot of MTT's (prolly more than I should) and I just got a few questions on certain hands and how people play them pre.
Lets say the average is 4,500 and your at 7k. Do you open up and start playing more of the 710 J8 67 suited types? I love playing suited connector types, but hate calling raises with them.. any advice would be awesome. Thanks -
There's no reason those can't be in your range (occasionally) anyway. It's good to mix up your play every once in a while, and hands like those are well disguised if you hit a flop or draw. You can certainly afford a look or two every few orbits.

I'd worry less about the average and more about your relative chip stack compared to the blinds. In your scenario, if the blinds are 100/200 then you definately should be including those. You can see a flop, possibly hit a strong hand or take it down with a c-bet, and dump it if you miss/meet resistance. If the blinds are 250/500 with a 75 ante, you're not really getting the right odds to play a flop with them because you have a short stack, but they're still good for late position steals.
