  1. The Tunica WSOP Circuit Event has begun in the greatly improved Harrah's Tournament facility. Event #1 had 514 entries in the $340 NLH tournament which was won by Ronnie Sewell (sp?) from Lexington, KY. Ronnie is a previous Circuit Event winner and I believe Vegas WSOP winner. He's certainly not one of the young internet players but is always a good and consistent player.
Harrah's has made a trememndous improvement. The tournament is being played in the casino theater which was added to the facility as part of the renovations from the old Grand concept to the new Harrah's. For those that have played at the casino before the old upstais poker room/tournament area was demolished as the floor of the second level was removed to combine space with the first floor area that is now the theater. Sixty tables are on the floor, registration is at the ticket booth (fast registrations) and restrooms in the theater area.
Great setup for tournaments. Only negative is that the new Poker Room is at the opposite end of the casino. The Poker Room is really nice for the cash games, but at tournament time it's a long walk between the two areas.
  2. I just came back from Tunica and I thought the whole thing was pretty horrible IMO. How the hell can they change a tournament (Wed 4:00pm was $230 PLO8 - changed to LIMIT O8) I stood in line for 20 minutes to register and they dropped that bomb on me.

The World Poker Open at the Gold Strike was hands down a much better run tourney and had numerous more cash games available. I felt this was a wasted trip. It was no different than me going down on any weekend. I may drive back this weekend if they have any good cash games going but it has been pathetic so far!!
  3. any word on the structures of the noon tournaments? i know its 10k starting but how long are the levels? Making the drive down there this evening.
