Ok, now let's get through it. Preflop is standard, flopbet also. What is his range of flat calling here? It's a $5 game, so he could have A5, K5, Q5 suited, K9, Q9, maybe J9 or T9, a diamond draw or a straight draw or even some random rags. A9, 22 or 55 he would have reraised pre I think. Now comes the turn [Tc] and I make my set and check it. Now I think that this was a very weak play, since he could easily have a diamond draw (But I had in mind that he would have raised with that on the flop). I check, he checks, and the Ace comes up (what else), completing his straight. So, have I ruined my hand on the turn or is this an acceptable play? If so, is it possible to fold the hand to the river-raise? Remember this is a 5$ sng.

    thx for replys.

BTW - this is my first post here. Hi P5ers!
  2. i'd just go ahead and check fold on the river

  3. i don't like your turn check bet atleast 1/2 the pot see if it all goes in right there. with the str8 now there on the river i would probably check then call.but no i don't think i could fold the river no way not heads up.he could easily have two pair an ace or even a busted draw.did he quick call the flop bet (then the turn bet) sometimes thats a tell saying i'm on a draw. but you make more money betting out than slow playing say he was on a diamond draw does he call your river bet w/nothing?? he does hit his ace on the river does he cal w/ace high???bet out and make him make the mistake. if he's chasing the flush the turns where to mak the money not the river.
  4. Folding this river would be terrible. In fact, not shoving over his raise would be terrible too.

  5. Completely standard, you just got unlucky.
  6. I think you're overanalyzing it too much because you lost. There is no avoiding going broke here.
  7. Thanks for the input!

I go with cardplayers analysis there, turn was crucial, river was standard.
