Three hands IN A ROW flopping 3 of a kind (not to mention the 2nd hand turning into quads). I honestly don't know if I had ever seen that happen twice in a row. 3 consecutive hands. Amazing. "random" my ass :)
  2. looks like the old random number generator has a bit of a glitch in it today...
  3. I have one word for that....

    weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  4. For all you math geeks....what are the odds of this?

I've got it at around 1 in 76 million. Gonna buy lotto today ;)

    </td></tr></tbody></table> <table x:str="" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="64"><col width="64"><col> <tbody><tr><td x:num="1.809954751131222E-4" align="right" height="17" width="64">0.000181
    </td></tr></tbody></table>

  6. you mean 1/10,000
  7. No...you don't start with 4/52. You are guaranteed a card with the 1st one (i.e.52/52). Your odds should start with the 2nd card (odds of the 2nd card matching the 1st card).

    So it's 3/51 * 2/50 = .00235 or 1/425

Your odds are for a specific #, i.e. odds of flopping three 9's. So the chances of flopping three 9's would start with 4/52 (odds of hitting a 9) and then continuing as you did above.

    So the odds of flopping 3 of a kind of ANY # is: 1/425 * 1/425 * 1/425 = 1/76,765,625

  8. Correct, I did that wrong. Your math looks right though on the second equation though. I guess thats a once in a lifetime prop.

  9. if thats not doctored thats insane
  10. Absolutely not doctored. I was floored when that 3rd flop hit. Both of us were like "wtf is going on".

  11. I agree with your number.

    4/52 * 3/51 * 2/50 * 13 = 1/425
  12. Actually, those odds aren't exactly true. If you were to say, "what are the chances of trips flopping 3 times in a row", then yes, it's 1 in 76,000,000.

But, what is probably more in line is "after flopping trips, what are the chances of it happening 2 more times in a row". That is simply 1/425 * 1/425 or 1/180625. Still pretty slim and still pretty amazing.

  13. Believe it or not, this is one of the possible outcomes with a random number generator.

Also, the RNG doesn't know the denominations of cards. It simply knows them as something like c1, c2, c3, ....., c51, c52. A "glitch" doesn't cause huge hands to be dealt all of a sudden.
