we'd been playing for awhile and i'd folded some big/decent draws against him all night. heads up we were playing fairly small ball style poker. one thing that sort of pissed me off was when we were 3 handed i refused to chop and asianrice was trying to get the other guy to gang up on me.

is that terrible? i don't play a ton of hi/lo but my plan was to check raise that flop and get it in. is that a terrible thought process?
edit: they both didn't want to gang up on me, just asian rice -
Heads up, limped pot, oesd, flush draw, low draw. I get it in all day.Nice brag post tho.
-
I like to see one more before i stick it in
-
Not terrible at all, had open ended straight draw, flush draw, low possibility etc, cant hope for much more in a heads up pot.

As for them saying they were gonna gang up on you, I would report that comment to FTP and let them investigate. Its obv not right for them to gang up on you cause your not willing to chop, looks like you won anyway so doesnt matter in this situation but still not right and should be reported imo. congrats on the win. -
they were vague 'threats' and it turns out it was just this guy saying it. i think he was just trying to mess with me. they didn't actual gang up on me. the guy had sick results and was probably just trying to intimate me into chopping. whatever, it's cool. just made me want to win more.

as for the hand i thought it was completely standard, but this guy kept telling me how terrible it was. i don't play a ton of omaha hi/lo and just wanted to see what others thought. -
I was looking up my name for something and this came up.
We weren't ganging up on you, I asked if you wanted to chop, you said no. There was nothing wrong with that. I said to mr chow in a joking manner, we would chop it once you went out. We never spoke once about ganging up on you.
The only reason I said that was because you kept getting your money in bad. On boards with straights and flushes out there you were calling bets with over pairs where you weren't a statistical favorite. It seemed inevitable.
I called you terrible because you kept doubling up short stacks with some of the worst hands. Raising hands like 9 10 jccc A, 77 9 10 for 6k then calling 15k all ins which you were forced to call because you were priced in, Knowing that even in omaha hilo you're statistically SMOKED. The best one I saw you raise was a 5 8 10 K, two spades under the gun.
On one hand in particular, there was a three way all in, a short stack had gone all in, I called, and you called, the flop came 2310 rainbow, I checked my a 6 5 q (or something like that) and you went all in with a 10 q q k ( or something similar), I folded, the turn and river pairing the board and another low card. The short stack ended up triple-ing up with a flush and a 68 low. I would have gotten the low and he would have just barely doubled up. At the time I said terrible, but I should have said you lacked tournament edicate.
As far as the HU part is concerned... The goal in poker is to get your money in with the best hand. The goal of omaha hilo is to get your money in as a statistical favorite. You were actually ahead as far as the low and as far as the high we were both 50/50. You just saw straight and flush draw, a mediocre at best low draw and put your chips in. You didn't have a wrap, you were drawing at a 6 high flush. If you really thought about it I just had j25sss 10h, I would be a huge favorite over you.
It was also for your tournament life. We were dead even in chips, I had you by 820 and i was applying the pressure. If you had folded you would have had 100,000 $ chips to my $160,000. If you had shoved all in on me on the flop I would have folded, but I got the chance to apply the pressure. If you reverse the situations, and I had your hand, and you shoved me, I would have folded. You had also just gotten all of your chips back two hands before where you hit an omaha 3 outer.
Sorry to write a book, Feel free to tell me if you agree or disagree -
I approve of your play, your 3handed with flush draw, open end and good low draw. Get it in all day here under these circumstances.

you're probably right on most of the hands you posted. i rarely play omaha hi/lo tourneys (especially non limit omaha)

i feel my nl holdem tourney game is pretty solid and try to apply similar theories and strategies to both. which is probably not right. (ie: the example of raising utg with 5810k) we had to have been short handed or i wouldn't have raised and was just looking to steal.
still learning. as for the last hand, with my chip stack i wasn't check raising with ever thinking about folding. there really are only very few hands that i am in that bad of shape against. i could have shoved, but honestly i was ready to snap call your shove. not sure if that is correct or not, but that is what was going through my head. i felt i had a big enough hand heads up to plop it in and see what happened.
as for the ganging up.. i said i didn't think it was serious or that i thought you were colluding. at the time something was said that sort of pissed me off, but it's no big deal. never in a million years did i think you guys were actually playing against me or anything. probably an overreaction on my part.
no hard feelings or anything. this hand just seemed interesting to me after the fact.
