agriffrod : -
id say hes got a lower flush/trip 8's but thats just from a mid stakes donk
-
He could have deuces here too and could have lucked out on the turn.
-
so, either he's hit a boat, a lower flush... or he's flat out bluffing thinking your weak.
What was your thought process during the hand?
I notice that you were using pot control through your line, but what I am getting at is when you hit your flush, at that point, did you believe that you were going all the way with the hand if he pushed, or were you ready to give it up to a possible boat?
I think that your own internal feelings here are important to how you played the hand out. You don't really mention if he had played any hands or showed anything down. Did you have any notes or previous history with this player?
Finally, is he the type of player who thinks that you can lay down the 2nd nuts on that type of board, if in fact you were playing a nut flush? -
He's got K8 with Ks.
Plus there is 2310 in the pot. You have to call 720. 3-1. Don't you have to call here?
( My numbers are probably off) -
As played I fold river. I can't possibly see this line with a lower flush from a good player, ever, due to about a million and a half reasons.
I bet flop though.
The only time I would call the river is if you know your opponent well enough to immediately think you have the dry As when you call the raise on the turn, further knowing you will make that river bet with a pair of Aces.... and further knowing you will fold to his check-raise... and thus he is doing it with his entire range... which is too much to assume and too in deptht thinking for this tournament and you should fold the river.
lol that sounded retarded -
Would you say that the river check by the villain was bad?
-
he has 77 is all I can see from his actions, 78 would be a fold in the BB even if suited, for sure, and A8 wouldn't make that line on the turn with the flush showing
-
^^^Ya i think hes trying to get max value on the river from high flush...I think he c/r turn to get more value from his already made hand which could be flush but as soon as he c/r on river i think he has flush beat....i fold
