Hollywood deposit bonus?

    I saw on Card Player's website that Hollywood Poker has a 1000% deposit bonus. I bet it's ridiculously hard to clear but I was wondering if anyone had anymore information about the bonus and maybe what the site is like. Thanks.

    hollywood poker is a pokerroom skin. i don't think it's a terrible site if you don't mind the pokerroom software.

    the bonus is very difficult to clear if you're playing lower stakes. this is because you have to earn a certain amount of points per dollar to clear your bonus. the bonuses are released in $50 increments, so if you don't manage to clear it all, it's not lost. points are given out at the rate of .7 points per $1 rake. so $3 rake gets you 2.1 points. each $1 in tournament fees nets you 5 points. that's not the horrible part, though, for a low stakes player. :)

    in a good news/bad news twist, the rake at HP is adjusted for limits. so in a .15/.25 blind NL game, the rake is capped at $0.50. like i said this is nice because less rake is taken from the low limit tables, but you clear points much slower. i don't know what stakes you play. if you have the BR for it, i'd recommend multi-tabling something like $2/4 limit and you should clear each $50 chunk with decent speed. i got a 1500% (yes 1 5 0 0) through bonus whores and it's been tough going for me, since i am only playing baby stakes on there. $25 max NL and $5 tournies have not yielded much yet for me. you don't have much to lose trying though!!!
