If someone contacted you about buying your seat at a primo price or deal on money won deep in a tourney before all this, whether or not you took the deal, would you consider them a "cheater" and report them? What if they never played in said tourney?
With that said I expect FTP to have some REALLY strong evidence of malicious cheating going on to take this sort of action especially so late afterward.
Now it has been discussed and people have shown how this is very wrong, there is no excuse if you get caught doing it, but there is a big difference behind a mastermind and someone who is just following the crowd (doing what he sees other top players doing) or gets made an offer he can't refuse.
idk where Sorrel is on that spectrum so I grudgingly agree we should all wait until the most information is available before looking into unranking and trying to get guys fired etc -
Pros, feel free to buy my seats for a lot of money.

If were being honest then yes Id have let him take over if it were worth my while. That is untill all of this happened. Now I would say no, I dont know if I would report him, I probably would talk to some other players and see what they thought. This thing is going to be like the steroid thing in baseball, Im sure alot of people are doing this that havent been caught yet.
-
No way would I let someone ever take over for me. First it is not fair to the grinders who are having a good run in the tournament and trying to do it themselves. And Secondly for me, the money I can care less about. I want to win. Winning the damn thing by myself would feel so amazing, compared to someone just giving me $10K. We can always make money. For us average players, winning a huge tourney comes along very rarely.

It's kind of like the traffic. If everyone would just follow the rules there wouldn't be so many problems.
Why can't you moron kids just enter one account into one tournament and when you're knocked out or you win then you're done just like everyone else.
Don't fucking buy someone else's account. That is multiaccounting and that is cheating you stupid idiots.
Of course you all know this but you're too greedy and too immature without any morals whatsoever to apply to common decency.
So what you do with your messy morals are one or more of the following: you cheat, you're friends with cheats, you keep quiet about cheating, you indirectly or directly defend cheating and if you're very "succesful" you can even back people you know are gaining edges BY cheating.
Group 1 are people like Sorel, Telcher, JJ and many more to come
Group 2 is huge but includes people like Annette and ActionJeff
Group 3 are people like bax, sheets and durrrr
what jokes you are -
Some of us play for the fun of it. Others play for a living. Still others play to make as much money as possible, morals be damned.
Sad that the latter group has to ruin it for everyone else.
I played in a $55 tourney once (50/50 I believe), where a big stack to my left was scared and weak/passive/tight. He had an ROI of -80% or so. Perfect spot for me to chip up on the final table bubble.
Inexplicably, he turned into a beast with about 14 left, 3-betting and 4-betting at will against everyone. I finally got all in against him with 9 left (after he 3-bet for the umpteenth time) and he flips 73 or some BS. I knew then that someone had bought his seat. Totally changed his playing style (and not just shifting gears)...I have never been more frustrated while playing poker.
Even though I won the hand, I was totally tilted. -
After your 1st sentence it was all pretty much hearsay/speculation that I don't want to get into and the name dropping at the end was sobad it was almost humorous
Brianyut,
Yes I see a lot of theads but I didn't see any that voiced how I feel and maybe others feel as well, so I made one of my own instead of being reply #499 on pg 10 about Mattg and Andy blah blah blah - otherwise I would not have posted this -
So do you report the top player or just decline?
-
ooooh aaaaah the MASSIVE speculation!!!
Have you been living under a rock???
No I know what it is, you're just another useful/useless (take your pick) brick in the wall protecting the online cheaters.
But what a fine idea it is to silence it all to death. Keep things as they are. Things are going so well.
Everything will be fine. Everything is fine. -
The more layers that get peeled back, the uglier the upper crust of the online poker fraternity is starting to look.
