  1. Was wondering how you all try to accumulate stacks throughout tournaments or even if emphasis is placed on having chips early...?

I just have been frustrated lately as I cant seem to develop a stack without crazy coolers and inevitably have to push marginally when blinds raise in hope to double up.

    Any input would be great

  2. - Mixin in up , raising with hands you are not suppose to raise with so it's hard to put you on a hand when you hit hard you might double through guy who hits top pair.

    - be willing to die to survive, put your chips in a huge pots with a good draw sometimes, pot odds..

    - accumulate chips by bluffing a weak opponent

    - play strong agressive game,

    - be tricky, trap and make a reraises who look like bluffs. Check nuts to guys who bluffs a lot and if you have put him on draw check to him let him bet

I think this is fair enough

  3. I used to play so tight early that I was constantly bubbling. I have done better accumulating early stacks since I read the Gavin Smith chapter of the Full Tilt book. Basically try to see a lot of cheap flops early, esp. in position.
  4. I think too much emphasis is put on trying to build a stack early(like lev1/2) in tournaments. Yes, obv it's nice to get a nice stack early on, but don't force it and make stupid plays just because you feel the need to "build a stack".

Watch some of the top players play early in tournaments most are pretty snug early, and don't get very active until the black chips come into play when the blinds become worth stealing.

Don't get me wrong.. you don't want to blind away the first few levels, but play goot solid pokers and you'll chip up slowly but surely. Then amp up the aggression a tad once the antes come into play.

Also don't be afraid to 3-bet shove in the 12-15 bb range instead of waiting to blind down to the 7-11 bb range then open shoving.
