1. i dont know how to play this. calling seems bad cuz i would probably just check fold most boards and if i hit, i wont get paid off enough times. thats my thinkin anyway. raising doesnt seem great either, cuz i dont know what i would do if he shoved. button has been raising sometimes, hes not crazy or anything.

$100+ NL Hold'em Tournament, 200/400 Blinds, 50 Ante, 6 Players

SB: 26,450
Hero (BB): 46,491
UTG: 31,232
MP: 9,023
CO: 6,584
BTN: 15,789

Pre-Flop: (900) 33 dealt to Hero (BB)
3 folds, BTN raises to 1,050, SB folds, Hero ???
2. I think you can profitably set-mine here with these stack sizes.

3. yes, technically stack sizes are big enough, but isnt buttons range wide enough, that it makes it unprofitable for me to just call like that, as he will win most hands when its just overs unless its like 677 or so. also, when i do hit, he probably wont have a huge hand to pay me off with. am i right or am i wrong?

4. i would never just fold here...either flat and set mine and try to play a small pot or 3-bet...i prob just flat and see what the flop comes and go from there
5. im not folding. its a 3 bet, call or shove.

You are right. if it was an UTG raise you could set mine even though being OOP you need about 120bbs to do it profitably long-term(I refuse to do the math on this again as I've done it once and it made my head spin with all the variables).

The guy's range on the button is so wide here that you can't really set mine because of the majority of the time he doesn't have a big hand here to pay you off. I'd probably just re-raise pre or fold, with fold being the best option, imo.

8. I think I fold exactly 0% of the time. Shove or call depending on opener imo.

considering the button only has about 40bbs you're throwing money away long-term by playing a real small pair oop. It's one of those things that just isn't worth it. Obv there are exceptions to the rule but wtf do I know I have a cash game background and just play donkaments to high five myself when I do well.

Maybe in tournaments there are variables I'm not considering.

11. What's ur reads on the button, if you just sat down and/or see him stealing frequently I'd probably reraise/shove. If you don't feel like being brave then fold.
