  1. I need help. I have a decent ROI on SNG's, but suck at MTT's. I almost always get through the first break, and then bust sometime before the 2nd break. I typically get through about 2/3 of the field, rarely cash, and not even getting close to FTs. I play a fairly tight game, but don't let my M get below 5. When I do push with M 5-8 I always seem to get busted by people calling with K9 or K10. Tightening up doesn't seem like a good idea, because I'm already pretty tight. Pushing sooner or with weaker hands doesn't seem like a good idea either because so many players have a huge calling range. But I'm not getting the results so I'm obviously doing something wrong. The only thing I can think of is to play my good hands harder earlier to try and build a bigger chip stack so I can survive a beat or a bad run of cards later. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. play more pots in position, you can build your stack pretty steadily with a 3-4k stack after the 1st break
  3. Play premium hands hard
Don't stick to a certain predefined style (A general style is fine)
    Don't overslow play
Play small PP if you can get in cheap early in the game (only for trip value)
Play some suited connectors (don't get carried away - only if the table is loose but not aggressive and there are a few callers)

The biggest change I made in the last year is being much more aggressive. Use pokertracker/pokeroffice to ensure you are playing aggressive both PRE and Post flop.

NB I play Micro limit MTT so if you play higher then disregard the above.
  4. I usually play $5 or $10 MTT's. I'm sticking to the 5's until my results improve.
