  1. Seriously, not a bad beat thread. How do you survive these maniacs shoving all-in every hand? QQ raise...3 callers. Flop K25. Lead out. They shove. AK raise, call. Flop KQ7...lead out, they shove. 88, raise, 2 callers. Flop AK4, check, shove. AAcs, raise 2 callers. Flop 459ddd. Shove...?????WTF

Maybe the game has passed me by but am I supposed to just call shoves every hand? That's what poker has become. Just ridiculous plays and ridiculous hands. Can't seem to figure it out anymore.

If you make those feeler bets to see where you're at they just shove every hand. Can't get em off draws. Can't get em off mid pair. Can't get em off AK when they miss. Worse part is, I run so bad they catch up and I am on the rail wondering how to play the hand again.
  2. adjust to your opponents....nothin much u can do about other peoples play....if they play real loose tighten up, try to take down most pots preflop and on flop...which will prolly make you the one who needs to shove in w/ best hand to protect it, a few checkraises and if they keep shoving to your feeler bets go ahead and put another one out there when u got the goods, and be ready to call there raise becuase this is excatly what u want, when u got AK and the flop is KQ4 and u bet and they shove all in...thats a pretty good time to call, gonna have to get aggressive if u want to take pots down quickly to prevent suck outs, these guys jump at any sign of weakness,so factor that in when trying to make a call from a maniac.....and try to induce that reliable super aggression when u got a good hand , aggressive players have trouble with other aggressive players -hope this helps a lil

  4. sounds like you play sng's
  5. Great additional info guys VERY INFORMATIVE
sounds like you are a weak hobby player

trying to give this guy adivce on dealing with maniacs all the time especially late in tourneys
just play strong solid poker with a few well timed traps and bluffs and you should do ok
  6. uhm I was responding to the OP, in fact didn't even read your reply.

The situation the OP described sounded to me like typical sng situations where pretty much everyone goes into check/fold or shove mode when the blinds get to 100/200 or so.
  7. i lol'ed at three's post
  8. lol, you still havent stopped bitching since last night?
  9. Bring back Paradise. That would fix everything!

    Bud
  10. just owned thats all
  11. The crazy play seems to be in the cheap turbo tourny or stngos. Try playing non turbo or double stack tourny's if that is the prob.
  12. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER IN TOURNEYS THAT IVE PLAYED ITS NOT ONLY AT LOW LIMIT SNGS..A MORON SHOVED 84 LAST NIGHT AND HAD BEEN SHOVING EVERY HAND WITH ATC..I FINALLY PICKED UP AK CLUBBYS CALL HIM AND WHAT DO YA KNOW HE WINS WITH A PR OF 8S..TYPICAL SHIT AND THEN HE TALKS SHIT IN THE CHAT BOX..LOL FIN MORONS BUT THEN AGAIN I WANT THAT CALL ALL DAY EVERYDAY. ONLINE PEP MAKE TERRIBLE PLAYS WAY MORE THAN LIVE CAUSE THEY HAVE THIER COMPUTER TO HIDE BEHIND
  13. HAL-LA-FUKIN-LU-JAH I have the same problems on a daily basis. At least some of us who have been playing for a while see this as the type of game that is played now. Say all u want about adjusting ur play and tightning up. If u have to race everytime to protect ur f-ing hand eventually u are gonna lose a race and be on the mother-fing rail. Even if u are a huge favorite eventually these maniacs are going to win a race. It is freaking redic-u-FUKING-lous.

EDIT - Sorry for the bitch-fest but it feels good to get it out.

    HAL-LA-FUKIN-LU-JAH
  14. DJC ive played a bunch of SNGS with you..and to be honest..im not impressed at all with ur play...u seem very weak and appear to have no concept of what winning sng play is..all u do is bitch about others...u need to relax and focus on ur own game...
  15. good post.

  16. DJC, if you're saying that "the game may have passed you by," wouldn't that imply that at one time, you actually knew what you were doing?

  17. Who died and made u king?? Listen chief if u played a handfull of games with him and u think u can properly tell what kind of player he is than ur a jackazz. alright Smith-ass.
  18. ya well then i guess im a jackass...I honestly dont understand ur response...how do u call someone a jackass for knowing how someone plays after playing with them a bunch of times?..thats what poker is about..

i remember him insulting someones low M late position shove..and calling this guy a donk..its a very standard SNG play and i strongly to believe it correct...and for him to constantly berrate +ev moves such as these make it clear that he doesnt understand SNGs

normally i wouldnt try to insult someone but DJCBOSTON is constantly crying and i think it would be best for him to understand that he isnt unlucky and his game needs a fair amount of work
  19. fair enough. agreed
  20. Play non-turbos until you can learn the aggro style of play you need to win turbos.. Obv people are pushing ridic hands because everyone is shortstacked all day in turbo's... If you are waiting for hands to get it in good, you are going to lose to much to the blinds then when you do pick a decent hand up and get it in. Even if you win you are back to where you started because you let the blinds hit you to many times. I guess if you are a cardrack every sng the strategy might work, gl sir..

  21. Sounds like OPs problem is that he is being outplayed by aggressive players.
