Hey Pocket5's... This is my 1st of many to come posts a P5's member.
How would you play a set in these situations of a tournament. 1- You flop a set and the board is 3 of the same suit. 2- You flop a set and the board is 3 connecting cards (i.e. 678). You can pick the set, whether it's bottom, middle or top set. Please explain. Thanks.
1- Early in the tournament, the blinds are still small to your chip stack.
2- Middle of the tournament, you're about at the chip stack average.
3- Late in the tournament, you're in the $ and in the top 3 chip stacks. -
push in all 3 cases, normally with a non scary board u can slowplay a set, but with boards like that u gotta bet the draws out. I'd say the only place u should really be careful with a set in those boards, is situation #1, early in a tournament. Theres alot of limpers and blinds are cheap so u gotta watch out for made hands. The later in on the tournament the better chances u have on winning with a set on scary boards, cause people are playing tight and usually high face cards.
