How fast can someone get ranked?

    If a no named person started playing poker right now what is the shortest time period he could make it to the top 10? What tourneys would he have to win? Obviously if he won all the ME online or something that would be amazing, but but how fast could someone really get to the top 10?

    I would say 1-2 years if the were clever, were a natural at internet cards, had some top players coaching them and they put all their efforts into it.

    edit: didn't see top 10. Probably 20ish years

    even if you will most certainly suck in the tourneys that you will need to compete in, inorder to get ranked. i would think even if ur a natural talent and quick learner it would take atleast 5-6 months to even become a slight winner in the biggest daily online events.

    if it was like 2004 and we were all starting on pretty much the same skill level i could see. but now that everyone else has such a huge head start on the competition, I wouldnt see it being that easy.
