How to go about meeting up with other players from the poker community during WSOP...

    I have been a member of this forum for four years mostly as a lurker, and enjoy the advice provided in addition to the friendly banter. I'm a 29 year old Professional (in Finance, not poker) and have been playing poker for over 10 years. I consider myself a recreational player, but have had periods of time where I have put in some decent volume online. Rarely do I get to travel and make it to any of the large live tourneys.

    One of my dreams has always been to enter the WSOP ME before I turned 30, and this time of year also coincides with my girlfriend getting her Masters Degree, so we booked a trip to Vegas and I am pre-registered for Event 56 and Main Event day A. Since my girlfiend has to work on July 6th, there is a strong possibility (don't plan on busting day 1) that I may be staying in Vegas for another week, possibly more and I wanted to see what the best way would be to meet up with other poker players in a similar position as myself. It certainly could get pretty boring on the off days.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

    I have been out in vegas for 2 weeks now not knowing anyone, but Ive met a ton of really cool people just playing at the tables. There are alot of people in a similar situation as you and its not hard to meet friendly people out here... Im at the end of my 2 weeks out here and I am doing the whole trip solo cuz I wanted to focus on just playing poker. Ive met cool people almost everyday of the trip.. and obv like others said if your gonna be down here around main event time go to the p5s party...

    Armpit, if that was for me that's cool. Since I am coming alone. I plan on playing 2 of the 1k events and a few Deep stacks.
