  1. I've been playing professionally for about a year now and the number of tables I play at any one time has steadily risen as I have progressed. Recently I have been playing 14-15 tables and I definitely think that is too many for me to play optimally.

If we play mid stakes, how many tables does everyone think is best, for a regular weekday and then for a Sunday?

  2. for me, i can actually feel my ROI drop incrementally for each table above and beyond 9.

Some players can play twice that many optimally..it takes practise tho
  3. play as many as you can load on sundays imo. at least if you play sngs

  4. By optimally do you mean highest ROI? Because you should be thinking of $/hr not ROI. A player at 5% ROI who can play 30 S&Gs in an hour is considered better than a 10% ROI player at 10 tables per hour.

  5. 4-6 is the nuts if you actually want to think about hands

7-12 ur missing some stuff but not quite on autopilot yet

13+ just playing your hands and position unless you have notes on everyone.

I like 4-6 and sometimes I'll jump up to 7-12. On Sundays as many as you can possibly run deep in.

Thanks I was wondering how you have been doing lately
  8. I pretty much hate life if I'm playing anything less than 18. 24 optimally. Then again, the majority of my play is 12/180s so it's not like a whole lot of decision goes into hands.
  9. i feel like 6 tables and i play my best game, still have some time to take imortant notes and think through hands not being under pressure having to act on 10 other tables.

with 8 and more tables i think like my games is getting def worse.

there are a few factors in MTT where u just can´t observe with more then 8tab imo,

table dynamics, specific players, players in the blinds, stack sizes and other stuff

Is that supposed to be funny? I gave a brief outline because if I just asked "How many tables should I be playing?" then people would be asking a lot more questions.

  11. You won't play optimally but its obv way better for variance the more you have going. I find playing +20 is too much and I tend to play nittier because I just don't have the time to open where I might normally. That said I think its ok to play like a nit during early game anyway. I'd go for reducing variance > playing optimally although I know a more successful MTTer than myself that plays max 4tables at one time. fml

You apparently won the Sunday Brawl and then finished 2nd in it 2 weeks later....so much for the self depricating thing...lol
