4 handed he should have said I want 250k you guys can chop the rest. He had a 4:1 on the rest of the table at one point I think and they were all under 15bb.

Thank god for FTP's deal making options now. That way, noone gets screwed just because they dont know ICM or how to make a proper deal.
yet another reason FTP pwns stars -
unless you could be the person getting the clueless morons to give you tens of thousands of dollars for free...in which case FTP's version blows dick.

LOL the greed amazes me sometimes.
Be fair, do whats RIGHT, and suggest deals / chops based on the numbers and what's fair.
some people...
FTP > stars = True -
Is there "fair" when your goal is to make as much money as possible?
-
I disagree that chops based solely on numbers is always fair. For example, if I got down to heads up in a major as with a 2-1 chip lead against Phil Ivey and we were talking about chopping (lol at him ever agreeing to a chop with me), I would be getting a huge deal if we chopped on the numbers. I think even at an even chop, he'd think he's getting ripped off. I think most players would agree and this is why a str8 numbers chop is not always fair.

P.S. I don't know how the chop feature on FTP works, so I'm not sure whether you have to make a deal on the numbers or whether it just lets you see what the numbers would be on a strickly numbers chop. Former sucks, latter is fine, although I think it borderlines on giving advice on equity which is inappropriate. -
I feel It should strickly be the players decision to make and ok a deal. Please leave the site out of the picture. If you're going to play a major tournament, you should be aware of how the deal making process works prior to making the final table. People who make bad deals do it because they are happy to just be there. So why not take advantage of that????
-
prolly not.
was at the casino two saturdays ago and got to HU in the tourney and the payout was $594 for first and $296 for second. crazy i know. and i had about 75k to his 65k in chips and he asked if we wanted to even chop, cuz they always even chop no matter what the stacks are, old people, didn't really feel like being a dick and asking for $375 cuz i know i was better than the guy and ahead so i said we should just play it out. TID -
Lol at chopping by the numbers always being the right thing to do. If you feel you are going to win the tournament more times than your chip stack suggests, you should definitely ask for more. The guy that won was running over that table and only talked about a deal because he got a little too reckless, so locking up first place money if he won was the best thing he could do. I think second place got the worst of it but meh it's hundreds of thousands on the line I'd probably do the same since the short stack was player like an uber nit.

lol at being "fair" in a chop. If you think you have an edge on the other players and deserve a little bit more cash, then it's not "unfair" to ask/demand a bit more cash. Who the fuck ever established it was "fair" and "right" to give chops solely based on numbers? It's poker. You're trying to win as much money as possible. If you want fair, go play some church league bull shit.

the idea is to make the most money possible in every tournament....if it's easier than winning the whole tournament why not do it? -

Also pretty classic last night... 4-way in the $26 ($35k GTD) the other three players are trying to get POKERPRO to chop 4 ways.
-
How hard is it for people to just say, "No thanks, let's keep playing"
My ego/pride would not allow me to accept a chop whereas another player was getting more because he think's he is better. -
so you don't think anyone is better than you at poker??

or you don't think being better at poker has anything to do with who wins a tournament? -
Why? That guy was way better than other two...he knew he would win.just let other 2 split up 2nd/3rd. Maybe they realized they weren't going to win and decided locking up a little more $ was best.

Not at all. I'm just saying I would never agree to a chop where another player was getting more because they think their better. Call me stubborn, foolish, whatever. I know my shortcomings.

what about if they have a lot of results over a lot of tournaments and are actually better than you?
