  1. For me AK has run into AA about 7 or 8 times past week, so many times that I'm starting to devalue AK. I just had it happen 2 times in the past 5 minutes. Ive only played about 70 tourneys the past week so it seems highly abnormal. Up against KK you atleast have one live card but there is no worse feeling than running AK into AA and almost drawing dead to broadway and flushes.

Does this happen to others quite often or is this a statistical anomaly. Whats the odds that someone has AA when you hold AK at a nine handed table. Normally its 1 in 24 hands someone holds AA at the table, with one ace in your hand the odds must be 1 in 70 or 80.

  2. I think if you take AA and KK its 1 in 50. Not sure though.
  3. lately I seem to find ways to get all my chips in against AA and lose every single time... while on the flip side, my AA is not holding up for squat.

    sigh, variance
  4. is this a joke?
  5. Why was the post funny?

  6. I also don't get it.
  7. If you have KK its like 1 in 24 to run up against aces. I wonder if anyone knows the odds against of having AK and being up against AA.

  8. This will happen about 2% of the time

  9. Maybe you are overvaluing AK with too many chips. I think you (in general) run AK into AA when you still have a very high M and get all the chips in pre. AK should be played more cautiously in the earlier stages of a tourny. But if you are running it into AA when you are getting lower in chips later in tournies, that is just bad luck.
  10. In live play, it will be 2%...online since you are seeing at least 3x more hands/hr one tabling, they adjust the computer algorithms to do this to you at least 1:3 mtts to keep you from making too much dough lol.

  12. Good post, I think you should be cautious with AK any time you have more than 40 BBs.

You think thats bad? Try running AK into AA 5-handed in the Sunday Million. That will give you a new perspective alright!
