  1. I play only MTT and I usually run fairly well until I get AA or KK and get KO with it...i'd say that 80% of the time I'm KO I'm holding these pairs so I'm wondering if I'm playing it correctly...well, honestly all these KO happen after some donkey sucking out on me but I still would like to know what you guys think...

this is how I usually go out...

  2. That KK hand is just sick. Looks like you ran into a LAG chip leader. That's the action you want, just unlucky. If you want to play it safer, just shove over their open raise. Once you raise 1/3 of your stack it's gotta go in anyways right? And so often you'll get that call from 77+

The QQ hand. So many people take a gamble when the blinds are so low. Seem again like a bad results hand, but I don't like the 3x raise at such low blinds. 4.5x or 5x at those blinds gets more of those crap hands out. But at the same time, if that player is going to call you down to the river w/ the paired 5...awesome (if they don't get that lucky catch)
  3. Early on in MTTs, I don't screw around with AA or KK. Just raise 3.5x and if anyone calls, bet normal if the board comes out nothing screwy. Later in MTTs, you can get tricky with AA limping UTG or UTG+1, but the most profitable play will always just be to raise and bet the flop normal according to popular theory.

I've been trying my hand at the "advanced" plays w/ AA and KK (limping late pos./re-raising a late pos. raiser after limping UTG or UTG+1) and I'm not finding much success. People almost always snap fold to the limp-reraise from early position knowing it's AA or KK unless you are playing <$10 MTTs.

AA, KK, QQ, and AKs are always going to be the hands you remember busting on because anytime you do lose as a monster favorite, it just burns in your brain.

Play ABC poker at small stakes with AA and KK. Get more advanced at higher stakes where players will respect the play. Then you can do the same thing with 62o and they will be none the wiser :-).
  4. Bro your just goin through a streak of cooler with big pairs....i go through them all the time i play a very high volume of 90 player sngs and believe me i been cracked over the head with my big pairs.....the best advice i can give for the lower buyin tournament is to keep it simple (limp pre hope for a raise and 3 bet) or over bet pretty high.....what i notice in the lower buyin tourney players arent paying attention like you are. try it to protect your hands from the 45suited snap offs....u may lose value but you wont be losing your whole stack everytime which is what the big pairs are most famous for

Your playing your hands fine just variance and extremely bad play from your opponents.
  5. Uhm....both hands look fine? Maybe a little too aggressive in hand 2 but not a real leak and pretty much what I would do without reads.

  6. just lol, dude seriosuly get real, "80% of the time i get Ko'ed with KK or AA" seriously get real, please stop posting on p5s
