  1. I am a fairly decent player but I need to better my game. I need to learn how to be more patient. Any ideas? Also I dont know much about EV and pot odds, which one would better my play the most, that way I can focus on one at a time. Thanks.
  2. pokerxfactor.com
  3. grinderschool.com

Cheaper than its competition but still has valuable content.

PokerXfactor is great, but I recommend pokerpwnage.com .
It still is a fairly new site, but they have some really good MTT vids, with guys like Ghettofabolous, Assassinato, USCphildo, Titantom32, Wretchy and some other competent players.
PXF has more vids, but pokerpwnage have enough, that you wont run out of watching them, even if you watch like 5 to 6 vids a day, like I have been doing ... The have a couple of great vids teaching basics, mistakes to avoid, early, middle and late game strategies + have weekly member tournaments, where you can turn a 1-3 place finish, worth the $ 5.50 entry into a FREE coaching lesson with one of the Pros !!! That is very much plus EV.
They have a great forum, and your questions get answered by the pros, too. Plus, you can pm them, if you have any problems or questions, and they generally respond asap..
If you buy a 6-month membership for $160, the activation fee is free ...
    Cheers, BEAT
  5. WOW, thanks for the advise. I will check all of them out and see what I think. I wish that they had a trial period to see whats all on there. Have the video's really helped you? Are these sites based on online play or live play, or does it even matter? I play some online but mostly live, between homegames and casino. I play both tournaments and cash games.
    Thanks

Grinderschool has a trial option.Saying that though if someone is unable to pay $35 for three months membership I doubt they should be playing at all.
Has it improved my game?Yes live and online.
  7. Here you go...just shove whenever the guy won't be getting 1.75-2:1 on their odds to call and hope for the best....when they do call, u'll suck out anyway...this is the way a lot of the top pros are winning. GL.

  10. Its not that I cant pay $35 for 3 months, I just want to see which one I like the most. I just dont want to sign up for one when there is a better one for me. I am planning on signing up for one of them this weekend.
    Thanks

I had a pathetic ROI then I joined PXF a few months ago and now I'm in the positive... and that took a lot of work. My ROI for November on stars is over 22,000%.

    Join PXF, it's worth it.
  12. I've been a Cardrunners and PXF member off and on for a long time. Since I'm a tourney player for the most part, I like PXF better. The only thing early on that stopped me from being a member at either of these sites were the cost.

As a low cost alternative grinderschool.com is definitely worth a look... am not sure of the cost but its a lot lower than the big name sites. Worth checking out. I got a coaching deal with one of the founders when i was playing $5 MTTs and well, you can check my profile, i've done well. They have other coaches that teach small limit cash as well.

Their vids are geared toward lower limit play which was nice since seeing Bax play $1K Monday doesn't do much for the low limit grinder. Nor does watching Townsend at $100/$200 NL. Granted there is some stuff for lower limits on both PXF and Cardrunners, but this site is totally geared toward it. Highly recommend.

  13. Here`s a free site you can go to. Not sure how it stacks up to the sites mentioned above I`ll leave it to the pros to evaluate it.

  14. Hey Cobere and Jason,

Thanks for the kind words. GrinderSchool definitely tries to capture the essence of what we feel can most benefit a low stakes player. We've got offerings for low stakes videos of every format of NLHE (6-max cash, full ring, SNGs, MTTs) and we're working hard to beef up our offerings for other games, while still building that content. We have a few LHE videos, as well as a few PLO videos, and recently we've been building a series based on providing an introduction every non-hold'em game available. Currently we have intro videos covering starting hand selection and basic play for the three most popular stud variants (Stud Hi, Razz, and Stud Hi/Lo), with more coming soon.

I definitely feel like our site is a great value at only $35 for 3 months, but admittedly, I am biased. I do strongly encourage anyone looking for a low stakes training site to check us out before you make your decision.
