poker after dark has been withered lately as well, just finished watching a bunch of the viffer laak gongshow episodes. guaranteed it wont be long before viffer goes broke being in all these high stakes games hes sooo bad. only time his retarded aggroness works is in position against laak but a monkey could do that...

im willing to give norm a chance, ive always been a fan of his dry, sarcastic humour. plus he's canadian!

Usually I cannot wait for the next episode. This is not the case after watching the first episode of this series. Was highly disappointed. Thank goodness poker after dark has gotten better.

i love watching the mixture of amateurs and pros, it adds a bit of unpredictability

Why no Negreanu if pokerstars have the rights this season? Or nanonoko or many of the other exciting players they could pick from PS's line-up?

Its the same old story, they change excellent tv shows to try to appeal to a 'wider audience'.
Problem is they end up with a product that doesnt really appeal to anyone!

That wasn't even close to the story. There wasn't even going to be a new season of HSP. pokerstars basically stepped in and saved the show by sponsoring it. So that pretty much set the wheels in motion for all the changes. I guess having another cash game on tv is better than nothing.

I wish you could play him HU to see how wrong you are, youve never played with him first of all, hes a real nice guy and will put you in a lot of really difficult spots as he can show up with air at anytime. Hes made every penny he has playing poker and hes a much better player then you.

also I know theres no ivery dwan or PA but theres been a lot of action ep. 1 and I dont mind how its been going so far

HSP7, well basically I believe the show is going to show us the real online world of high stakes. Surely some of the grinders in NOSEBLEEDS play jus like some of the wannab sillybanders, or 2x overbet wannabs.

vanessa, overaggressor not afraid to rebuy ( the qq vs OP, the actions on the table told it all, TT, JJ, is pretty much all you can beat... and early action there screamed ur in trouble....

and doyle, could have easily folded QQ on rainbow flop the way they are play @ that table right now in esp.1 is totally ludicrus. after he sees he went wrong, surely they will all be on to gramps overbet actions :)

Worst play ever... I play micros and I wouldn't make that call. A: He announces a raise out of turn B: he's an amateur who is highly unlikely to make a move like that with 1010 or JJ. Just an all around horrible play, she needs to step up her game.

I also miss Gabe. He was a great commentator, and Norm is basically just calling the action. There have been a couple funny parts, but he doesn't seem to have enough knowledge of how these games play yet. I think it will get better, but it's going to be hard filling the big shoes Gabe left.

With no FTP players and no Gabe Kaplan, the 7th season of the show is (so far) and will be a complete failure IMO.

Not all action is created equal. Vanessa selbst spew off a stack with QQ or viffer randomly jam over an open might technically be 'action' but it's boring as fuskies. Give me durrrr 5betting 86o or PA snapping off kids with bottom pair or Ivey glaring at people as he rapes their faces off. Outstanding LAGs with deep stacks exploiting nits and slugging it out with each other is where the real drama and excitement of TV poker lies...the first episode of HSP was basically a glorified WSOP broadcast
