1. Which is easier to play (IYO obv)? What are the differences? Any input would be great!

I enjoy playing (and have had short-term success) at both HU cash and sng's...learning the nuances are tough though. I pretty much go with my gut on most everything. Hopefully I'll get more concrete ideas the more I play.

I read though the 2+2 HU forum's suggested threads on HU for a couple hours this morning and found some great stuff on there. If y'all know of any other solid sources for HU skills and info, post that up as well.

Thanks.
2. HU Cash you play with 100BB's+ bigger mistakes....more money.....SNG's variance is absolutley sick for HU. If you're a good HU player theres no reason you cant average 10BB/100 at .50 1 the play is extremely horrid. A good ROI for 52.50HU is probably 20-30% but swings can be very sick but so can cash.

Cash>SNG IMO
3. SNG's variance is absolutley sick for HU - wrong, the variance is less than any other form of poker.

A good ROI for 52.50HU is probably 20-30% - wrong, 30% is nowhere near attainable over a reasonable sample. 15% is quite good at the mid stakes.

Anyway... try them both out yourself OP and see what you like better and are more comfortable with. I tend to enjoy HU SNGs more because I think tournament-style poker is more fun and I like that the variance is so small. Also, try out the $22 HU MTTs if you want; very soft fields and if you're multi-tabling other MTTs it's a good way to break the menotany.

4. rake for low limit HU cash games is huge compared to higher stakes. I would go with SNGs
5. Thanks. Keep it coming.

6. Cash is more dangerous if u tilt imo. unless you play sng stakes outta ur roll u know what u risk losing b4hand
7. Def Cash is more dangerous if you have tilt problems.

I think HU sngs are the way to go personally, though I've never played an extremely large sample size of them.
8. There are some other important factors you should consider... what limits are you playing, as above poster said rake in lower limit cash is very big compared to sngs but conversely rake is worse at higher limit sngs then in higher limit cash. Also how many tables are you capable of playing profitably? If you are playing med-high stake sngs rake back is very big at these levels, so playing more tables will really help.

9. shanetrain is on with the real facts. the principles of the two different forms of HU are, imo, very different. br requirements are very different as well. if you always keep improving and stay in control of you emotions you can beat either form in time.

10. I'd feel like a donk for playing HU cash because the rake is soooo high. So I guess that leaves HU sng's by default, but I hate HU unless I have a read on a player. I feel like I'm just making pre-determined decisions based on how "Joe Schmoe" plays otherwise AKA pretty lost.
11. I really appreciate all you folks responding.

Right now I'm playing $5.25 HUsng's and .02/.05 HU; y'all are definitely right about the rake being rediculous at low-stakes cash. Best case scenario for rake at cash .50 for the $10 pot...and that's only if you get it all in at one time. So more often than not, I'm paying more in rake to win the same amount I would in an SNG.

So, I'll take SNG's for now and start mixing it up with cash once I can play at the levels where the rake isn't so bad.

One of you mentioned that there are different skill sets for HUsng's versus HUcash. What are the diff's?

12. This may be a stupid question, but what site offers .02/.05 HU tables?
13. 30% roi hu..lol....mbn to attain that..not realistic at all

14. A good ROI for 52.50HU is probably 20-30% but swings can be very sick but so can cash.

Roflllllll I hope you're kidding. 3-6% is good roi, wtf has 20-30% roi in hu sngs?
15. I play at PS, but obv they don't have tables specifically for HU. So, I sit down at an empty table and play with the next guy that sits down or I sit down at a table with only one guy at it.

I usually keep playing until more than 3 people are sitting.
