Wierd spot I just encountered, playing HU against a reg... Have some decent history together, and hes normally pretty aggro. He was C-betting about 85% of pots. How does everyone play this hand?

Hands I can see him checking behind are some Jx,Tx, draws, and QQ. I doubt he's checking behind a monster on this wet of a flop. It seems more like a pot control situation for him. I bet 130 to 150ish with the intention of getting it in to a shove or on most rivers.
Since you posted this though I'm assuming he turns JJ over. -
Well, I lost the HH now, but basically I check and he bet 125 into the pot. Wasnt really sure what to do there, so I just smooth called and then checked the river again. He check behind and showed 84 spades, for a busted flush draw.
Obviously I played it bad letting him get to the river for only that one turn bet, but live and learn i guess....
The 4 bet and then check behind really threw me off. Possibly because we were both so deep stacked, and it was such a tricky board. Put him on strictly air or KK, QQ, JJ, so I didnt see the point of leading and having to call it all off if he raises. Also check raising the turn really puts me in a tough spot also if he shoves.
Wish I had the history saved still, but the hand really threw me for a loop. Hope you can understand this.
Thanks for the insight -
Understandable the check is weird considering the way he has been playing. However, if he was C-betting a lot then it would be more profitable for him cbet a monster a than to check it. Also considering he has to give you credit for a hand since you called his 4 bet out of position.
Given this information I still think his range is weighted heavily towards a draw or a marginal pair here. I think you have to bet the turn, then put out a smaller river bet to get calls from some made hands or induce a busted draw to raise you. I don't think check raising the turn is bad though, as he probably will bet most turns given the action. -
Good points. Appreciate the thoughts...
Just noticed you were from Gainesvegas. Graduated from UF a little over a year ago.
I'm always grinding on FTP, so hit me up sometime if you ever need anything
