    If someone enters into a long backing deal and is down a significant amount, and the person being backed wants to quit poker are they allowed to just leave without paying back makeup? Also, if the backer wants to quit the person being staked because of big makeup, will they just decide to quit the person and all makeup is gone?

    this is why it is important to choose the ppl you back carefully. Your losses are your losses unless you had a stipulation that if the player quit, they still owe the make up. Its all in the how the deal was discussed and agreed upon when it first started.

    Contracts are that way.
