  1. You know, I had just won two small 70FPP tourneys, and decided I would try and break my own record for most tourneys played at a time.  (My old record was 10.  I decided to try 18 a few weeks ago, and tonight, played 19.)

Now, when I play this many, it's impossible to keep track of every player.  One particular tourney, I had raised on the button with JT, and got called by another big stack.  A smaller stack moved in, and I figured I'd also get called by the big stack.  Unfortunately, I was wrong, and the shortie flipped over TT.  I flop a jack, which is totally sick, and this player:  "LiLSShe/oc" decides to go on a rampage.  I apologized for the bad beat like I always do, but he decided to start mocking me and so forth.  I'm not sure why I continued to respond to him, but just certain things he said set me off.

"I've been so tight this whole game.  Of course I have a high PP."  To which I responded, "I'm playing 19 at once.  Sorry for the beat, but I can't notice every player all the time."  Of course, I wasn't that deep in all the tourneys, so I had forgotten I was only in about 8 or 9 by this time.  He continued to insult me and such, to which I responded:  "Check my Sharkscope.  That'll answer all your questions."  Now, I am a winning player, but not by much.  Hahaha.  I was hoping he would see my results, and understand that I don't play too seriously.  Of course, he took this as bragging (which, I guess I can understand ... but who would brag with results like mine?) and still continued to bust my chops.

He then said "At least you cashed in this one."  I felt the urge to defend myself a bit and said "Well, I've won at least 3 of these so far.  I've got more than one cash." and he called me a liar, and said "You've missed your last eight.  You're such a loser."  Of course, he didn't type that well, but whatever.  I said, "Your sharkscope has probably not updated yet or something.  I have at least 8 or 9 cashes in this session."  He bashed me a bit more, and then left.

I just don't get it.  I was running pretty well, and ended up cashing in 12 of the 19 (1st, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st) which I know is pretty good, and this idiot tries to take it away from me.  He also brought up the always interesting "conspiracy" conversation in regards to online sites, and how three outers hit 75% of the time and other garbage, and how he was an awesome live player who makes 80k.  Who cares?  If it's true, good for him.

I guess it just bothers me how some people react at the table.  Why go off if you suffer a bad beat?  I lost three tourneys early on where KK lost to J9, AK lost to AJ and I think it was AQ to A5, but I can't recall.  It's poker.  It happens.  I was just playing for fun, and happened to get lucky a few times, as well as got unlucky.

He claims he's playing $1.20 tourneys for fun.  Well, so was I.  And it sucks that people who are sore losers have to try to ruin it for other people.

Oh well.  Wherever he is, let's hope he starts running good so he won't steam at a $1.20 table.
  2. ...

    good story.

    ....
  3. Just say LOL next time.. Don't let him get under your skin, he's obviously just bitter.. Easy to laugh it off, and less stressfully than trying to explain yourself..
  4. why would you type the word "sharkscope" at a table full of n00bs.
    stop tapping the glass.
  5. No doubt. You want the fish to stay fishy.
  6. Oh.
  7. "I've been so tight this whole game. Of course I have a high PP."

LOL at the player that thinks TT is "high" and not vulnerable to paint.
  8. Just ignore the haters...

Have a similiar story. Was in the PS $27.50 25K like on Wed or Tues. I'd flopped a opened ended straight flush on like the 3rd or 4th ahdn of the tourney, paired on the turn so when the villain bet I jammed. Missed my striaght and flush but I had caught another J for trips. So now my table is calling me a donkey ( not sure they even noticed the open ended flush and instead thought I got lucky because I was betting the J with a K out there... ) but I have a big stack. I manage to quad up by the end of the first hour. Second hour I get q's utg +1 and I'm the big stack at my table so I raise it up. Folds to the CO and he jams me. It was only about 1600 for me to call. With 11K in chips calling 1600 with Q's after I've already invested 400 or so; it is a pretty easy decision. Well he flips K's but of course I turn the Q. He then sits on the rail and talks about my donkey play in the first hour and I should have known he had me beat when he reraised. Went on to say I'll be an expert at redepoisting etc etc. I honestly laughed at the whole thing. You have to. As somebody once said, you aren't at the table to make friends. If you are doing something that is pissing off the rest of your table, then whatever you are doing is probably a good thing for you. So don't let these guys get under your skin. Laugh it off and move on to the next hand. I'm sure you get sucked out on all the time so damn it enjoy it when you get to put one on somebody else.
  9. Jack sounds like you were at a table full of NITs. Both of those plays are pretty standard as far as I can tell.
  10. I think you should work on your "Who gives a shit" component of your game.
  11. I too found this to be the funniest part of the story
  12. Block Chat?

Just remember, if you don't let it bother you then it isn't a burn but instantly becomes one the moment you take offense.

The main thing is understanding the table dynamics and how to exploit that. In this case, the table percieves you as a donk, use that 'misconception' to your advantage. Agree w them that you suck and are a donk and that the only way you can win is get lucky. Letting it bother you at all, on ANY level, is just a waste of your energy and time at the table.
  13. Dude you paid your way into those tournies, tell the haters to bite me. The best starting hands do not always hold up, after the flop any 2 cards can win. We all know that. Bad beats happen all the time don't worry about the haters. They are not putting food on your table. So tell them to stfu and get a life. LOL

  14. Dont forget you're being treated this way by a Low Limit Player...

In any event: being the true fish that I am, I understand (but don't agree with at all) why the fish you knocked out went nuts. Therefore, let me give you a glimpse into the extremely limited mindset of a fish.

Fish thought #1: We fish never think we're the Fish
Fish thought #2: Only Fish play anything other than high pocket pairs. (Therefore, I should win every time.)
Fish thought #3: I have KK, therefore only AA will beat me so please call me, opponent! (Board?, Position? Stack size? Who cares, I got KK!)
Fish thought #4: Online Poker is rigged b/c I always suffer more bad beats than I give out! (Playing only PPs doesn't give you real chances at str8s or flushes, therefore, we get mad that our made hands don't hold up after all cards come out)
Fish thought #5: I can only afford a $20 bankroll or my wife/girlfriend/parents will consider me a degenerate, so I can't afford to suffer a bad beat.

Anyhow, I hope this helps you understand us better.

PS - I bet your opponent wasn't mad when he saw the J-10 flip (before the board). Once he saw that, he probably started thinking about quitting the 9-5 to make millions in online Poker. LOL

  15. Lol @ Imustcall.

I dont get the complaining. You should WANT QQ to call your KK, and JT to call your TT.
I just laugh at these people.
  16. Nits in a $1.25sng? wowzers

  17. I like to go with the "Sorry Im color blind, i cant read green font" approach, that really sets them off.

  18. well Id say you felted the guy and yet you ended up being the one being tilted. While playing 9 games I would say that is 110% lack of focus. Possibly turn off OBS chat when playing that many or if one guy is gonna get to you never turn OBS chat on again
