  1. There's a small tourney series there soon, and it includes $300 omaha 8/b, $300 PLO, $300 HOSE, and $300 2-7 triple draw...events you usually don't see.

    Also a 3k main event

    Anybody care to join me?

  2. They run this twice a year. Im just down the road . GL
  3. Why do you act like its unusual to want to play poker in Oklahoma? Cherokee is a nice casino with a great poker room. They are also holding the 1st ever live duplicate poker tournament which should be pretty interesting. I think its even going to be on tv.
  4. because oklahoma isn't a talked about poker location...at all

  7. Yeah i saw this too-I thought it was local(so cal) but thats kind of far.....I found a Omaha h/l live tourney for 65 every tuesday at hawaiian gardens...Im gonna have to be "sick" on tuesdays alot....I have never played a live Omaha high tourney I want to play in that 300 plo.....
  8. That casino has one of the sweetest poker rooms around..
  9. Cherokee is 21+
  10. The Oklahomic?

  11. I've played there a couple of times. Very nice tournaments with very good structures.

  12. I am from Oklahoma, and I can tell you that Cherokee is one of the nicest venues I have ever seen. I am in the industry and presently work in a tribal casino here in Oklahoma, but I have worked in Vegas as well. Right now there is no question that Cherokee is the one that the rest of us are chasing.
They have pretty much set the standard in the Midwest for poker tournaments. At present they host 2 major tournaments a year. The upcoming Oklahoma State Poker Championships and the Scotty Nyguen (sp?) classic. Both feature reasonably large buy in final events. There have already been several top name pros play there. Last year Nam Le won the Scotty Nyguen main event, but others such as Layne Flack, Amir Vahide, Minh Nyguen, and others have played there as well.
The action here is absolutely terrific with games up to 10-25 PL . If you're seriously considering a trip here, it is well worth your time.

  13. Great Tourneys. See ya there
  14. thanks for that post and link. i'm going to make it up there.
  15. agreed. I've played at Cherokee in Tulsa a handful of times and have had good times and good sessions there. Their smaller casinos don't measure up however and whatever you do, don't play blackjack in Oklahoma. You gotta ante on every hand.
  16. speaking of Oklahoma, the Winstar on the border of Texas has good action. Theres always new blood coming in from students at UNT (North Texas), which is about a half hour away, and rich businessmen from DFW. But no Omaha the last I heard. oh and I saw Amarillo Slim there once too.
  17. Winstar Casino on the Okla./Texas border is now spreading Omaha. Also, Riverwind Casino just south of Norman Oklahoma on I-35 has some pretty decent action, and they spread Omaha as well.

  18. I will probably be at the NLHE 200 tourny on sat the 10th, and if I get busted out of that I will probably play the main event satellite that night as well.

  19. Do the OKC casinos or the Casino on the TX border ever have good tourneys?
  20. Winstar has the Red River shoot out.... I believe a 1k buy in,... had Raymer and Williams there ;ast year with 5k bounties... I play there every weekend they have 30+ poker tables and are working on a new room that will spread every thing from Razz to holdem... great room with good action
  21. hey theomaholic, im currently in florida waiting for my bimmer to get off a boat from germany. it should get here around the 3rd of feb. i will then probably go on a cross country tour to oklahoma and play in the omaha events. but i would love to meet up and we could talk some poker and play in the tournies. it would be nice to know someone there. this is all pending on me getting my car here on time. PM me if you want to meet up.
  22. where can i find stud or low limit hilo omaha (4-8 or smaller) or $2-10 or smaller for stud? i know about the cherokee but i got 86ed from there 2 yrs ago for getting in an argument with a delaer. what about Creek nation in tulsa? or some other the other places all across the state? how easy is it finding stud or omaha hilo games. not omaha hi but omaha hilo. and not for big stakes.
  23. the 4-8 hilo omaha is spread there at times.... the have a interest list and there always seems to be 6-7 names for 4-8 Omaha- This is at the Winstar, they are opening the new poker room later this year... and I wouldnt be surpised if that isnt a normal game since they are talking aboyt Razz n such Im sure a low limit Omaha game will be spread
  24. At Creek, we usaully spread a stud game on Fridays and somtimes Saturdays. More and more often we also spread a limit Omaha or hi/lo split game on the weekends as well. There is always at least a 1-2 PL Omaho going in the evenings and sometimes a 2-5. One night we even spread a 5-10-25 NL Omaha game. Whatever we can get enough people for we will spread.
  25. I was thinking, If a bunch of the P5r's wanted to come down and set up a game for at Creek for a specific day, let me know and I'll se what can be done. Would be kind of cool to have a meet and greet with out of town P5r's. I can promise you, if set up in advance, there wouldn't be lack of action and some of the mid level NLH and any Omaha games.
  26. I am from Oklahoma. Come on down :).
  27. i ban you from commenting ever again you donkey
  28. i'll be there for sure. just registered for the 200 buy in on feb 10th. send me a pm, if you want to meet up or something. and that one p5s setup game would be cool.
