    Goofballs last night telling me I need to fold it oop

    c both of these gentlemen called me with just high card hands while I could hit a high and low board with A8 as you can see the board played out to hit the lower one this time. And this was in a $130 bounty buy-in with none of the other guys commenting after, most likely because they understood the play with A8.

    goofball here, praying this is a level but knowing it is not. In the OP u were utg and it was the 1st level and the blinds were 15/30. This is a totally different situation. It is almost inconceivable that u cannot tell the difference between the 2. A8 is garbage but w/ less than 5BB u have to shove any A. Ur argument about A8 having value on both hi and lo boards is possibly one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. U r making N2Kfactor's threads look smart, and I previously thought that was impossible.

    I was completely on your side when I initially read the hand history. Then I read what you wrote before the hand and Im so confused, the high board low board thing is laughable at best.

    Next piece of advice is dont blind yourself down to 5BBs.

    You guys all don't get it with A8 you can do lots of cool things. When the flop is A85 you will definitely stack A5 because they ALWAYS go "you got 76? whatever I call." But if you had A7 and the flop was A75 it would be way harder for them to think you have 76 and still call which is why you can turn the A8 into a bluff and get them to fold the A5. So basically yeah A8 is the jack of all trades hand like OP said. It's just the best hand there is with a lot of value. Board can roll out KQJT and you're good or 7654 and you're good. You got the high boards and low boards. A8...hof
