This was my dream last night, but it got me thinking about whether it would work...
What if in a MTT, a whole table decided that they weren't going to play at all...just fold around over and over and over and over...letting the blinds have their blinds returned--thereby everyone would stay at 1500 the whole MTT. Let's say you got sat at a low #'d table where the chances of being closed down, or having players moved was small...and you could talk the table into this, could you guarantee the whole table would make it down near the end? -
once the blinds get big enough, it would be the BB vs sb all in everyhand.
and people would eventually get moved to your table who wouldnt do it. -
I was at table 1 in a 20K MTT and people were suggesting that. Two problems:
1. Yes, you will most likely make it to the money and beyond, but who wants to get that far in a tourney with 1500 chips? You have no shot at the real money or a win. You'll be sitting there with 1500 chips with a table average of 25000 at some point.
2. The blinds. Like doomed said, it would become SB v. BB every hand towards the end I think. -
You are right, but just looking at the stars schedule, it takes 3.5 hrs for small blind to be 1500...with 150 ante, you could say 3.25 hours. That in most tourneys will get you well into the $...and if noone busted and you were at a low #d table, noone would join.

In my dream, it was a $1000 buy-in so getting to the final 18-27 was a pretty nice payday. :)

As fyi...in a Deep Stacks tourney, if everyone played along, the whole table could last 10 hrs before it was SB all in. In the words of Ronco, Set It and Forget It.
