  1. I played against Jsup, KrazyKanuck, DennyLemieux and a couple others (but those were the notables) in a $500, 6 seat SNG, and placed 2nd (for $900) behind KK.

I am just your average online player with about a $600-$1000 bankroll and I was just feeling good on this late night and decided to sit after some encouragement from friends. lol, so as you can imagine I am pretty happy right now and feel the need to spread my joy to the p5s boards!

I'm a regular reader of this site and my friend Hems is an article contributor and I just wanted to say keep up the good work at p5s.com!

  4. not for nothing, but why would anyone put 1/2 their bankroll in play vs. players that they feel are superior to them?

  5. Because everyone is equal at the table and if the cards come your way, it really does not matter who the person is at the table.

Good job and continue to go with your instincts!!

  6. Everyone is equal if the cards come your way? Yikes.

  7. You know what I mean. Should everyone fear NSXT2 because he is at their table? Then your behind the eight ball before it starts. If you know what your doing, it does not matter who is at the table.
  8. ok, even if anyone here agrees with what you say about that, i can't believe cheering someone who just put 1/2 his bankroll on 1 sit n go is a good thing. regardless of the result.

  9. Props to the guy for making it in the money but I agree with you dippydough. I would not even risk half my bankroll with players even in skill with me. I don't think it was a good bankroll management decision but it ended up paying off for him.
  10. I agree. But he went with his instincts and it proved to be a good "gamble". This is about gambling. Who knows, maybe the thought of playing with these players helped raise his level of play and confidence.
  11. Maybe it did help his play, but if he continues making these kinds of decisions he's likely to go broke very quickly. Just the level of variance should take care of that. I think its sometimes allright to go a little out of your comfort zone in terms of bankroll requirements, but you have to be very careful about this and certainly never do so for half your bankroll.
  12. WTG props 2 u!

i understand the urge to test yourself against better known players at a higher levels. Glad it turned out well.

I usually play 10-30 buyins, but on rare occasions have gone up to the $100 for that very reason. It turned out well each time, (in fact the games seemed a bit softer at the higher level lol) but the stakes are not those I'd like to play every game at yet.

Currently I'm using NSXT2's RealPokerTraining.com to improve my game, and would like to plug it here, it's a worthwhile investment.

  13. Congrats , but seriously , your risking WAY too much of your BR for 1 SNG. I always feel like a favorite in any table i sit at , but i dont win every time . Its not possible .
I dont know....... just seems like not a smart move , IMO . But congrats .
  14. I said immediately after I played that last night that it was the last time I'd do it for a very long time. It was just an instinct thing and Iceman is right on the money when he said it helped my confidence.

Trust me when I say I won't do that again for a very long time, it was a one time deal.

  15. Why didnt you just go to the local liquor store and buy some scratch lotto tickets..............be doing the same as playing a 500 sng with the size of your BR.
  16. LOL LOL LOL

Damm nsxt, it might take a while before u collect some good cards again.

Hmmm concerning this sng I will say this: Dont drink while playing poker.
