just sent this email to full tilt poker, im in shock...
Hi, Im sure this is not what you guys want to hear or deal with, but I was recently scammed for $9,000. I sent $9,000 to someone I thought was Chad Batista. He created an account on Full Tilt Poker with the name "Chad_BatistaXXX" i cant remember the exact numbers that replace XXX, but it was a fake account. I just got off the phone with Chad Batista and he said he had no idea what was going on and that someone had hacked into all of his AIM accounts and could track everything he was typing. This scammer created a new AIM and had been talking to me for about a month, saying he was Chad Batista. Meanwhile, he did not let the real Chad Batista back on his old AIM screen name. So four days ago, I was talking to this guy on AIM and he asked if he could have $5,000 on Full Tilt Poker because his neteller account was closed. Chad Batista used to ask for money all the time 3-4 months ago, and always paid back promptly, so I figured I could trust him. About an hour later, he said he lost it and asked for $4,000 more, this was not out of the ordinary for him as he used to do this before his account was hacked. I sent him this money as well on Full Tilt Poker. So I just got off the phone to find out this was a complete scam and I am not getting my money back from Chad Batista. Is there anything that you guys can do about this? Im sure the scammer cashed out right after he got the money, but if you guys can track down the money, and get it back to me, that would be great. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
the transaction are as follows:
0085B528 0085B527 12/10/2006 6:21pm -$5,000 Player
0085C53B 0085C53A 12/10/2006 8:05pm -$2,000 Player
0085C625 0085C624 12/10/2006 8:11pm -$2,000 Player
Thanks,
Peter Neff

Are you 100% positive that the 'real' Chad Batista isn't the one really scamming you?
No disrespect intended towards the character of Batista but just thought I'd throw it out there. -
jst ouch
-
Well, at least you are still way in the black for the last 24 hours Pen.....sorry to hear about this though.

I warned chad yesterday there was a guy on fulltilt using his name and i could tell he was getting ready to scam someone. he was feeling me out two days ago trying to talk with me

I don't care if my mom wants me to transfer 9k. Its not happening!! What would happen if you said no?
Its hard to beleive someone hacked into his account and took your money. But that an outside view. I don't know the guy!! -
not sure if this is your friend or the fake account but i have played at a few tables recently on ftp against chad_batista951 and for what its worth the person certainly was not dumping money or anything of the sort. I believe I have played him on more than one day and would be surprised if it was a scammer, most scammers wouldnt sit and play like he did i dont think

Would the REAL CHAD BATISTA please stand up?
1st off sorry dude. Scammers suck.
All seriousness tho, if the "real" Chad Batista just won over 200K, why would you think he needed 9k? Just curious -
ya, wasnt the best move on my part, this guy followed me in tourneys and even one time pretended to be chad while lilholdem954 was deep in a tourney on stars i was watching and he was telling me "his hands". Looking back on it, this guy was damn near flawless...
chad and I have been talking on AIM for 6+months and talk on the phone every once in awhile, we would swap % in tourneys and always cheer for each other, so i guess thats why i trusted this guy -
he's got a point there . Although Pen did say he had his netteller closed ?? I feel for your bro that sucks and the biggest reason I will not use aim or anyother instant messenger

If you talk to FTP, they cant help you out? Figure they could trace the netteller account or whatever and take the money back out, no?

pen dont worry...........
u did a nice thing your rewards will hopefully be more than the 9k in the long run

I saw a "chadbatistaxxx" playing on fulltilt a couple days ago. He was playing against a fulltilt pro (i cant remember which one... although for some reason i think it was ivey) at a 100/200 table and was sitting with 7k or so. He did get stacked and promptly left.
