  5. LOL at the timing of this post. I'm currently watching the new episode of "Weeds" and there is this reoccurring theme that goes something like this. "Some people are losers, and some people are closers." (paraphrased, dictated, not read, etc)
  6. Well at least u are getting in the position of closing, very rarely have i got a 80/20 to hold up the last 3 years on FullTilt, must just be "variance"
  7. Maybe you should post some of the hands you are having trouble with.
Don't assume it's all bad luck - there may be ways you can improve your game.
  8. fuck man i hear you. ive finished 10-18 in so many tournments the last few monthes its starting to drive me fuckin insane. just keep telling yourself that as long as youre continually putting yourself in position to take it down eventually shit will go your way.

  10. 100% agree....to many deep (ish) runs without any chicken....to blaim luck. I think I have some serious end game flaws....

Mainly to do with focus I think....im like 30/209 in one now....and im watching ESPN...meh (find me some penguins...)
    Thread Starter
  11. man end game is where you want to focus the most, turn ESPN off when it gets down to 45 people, watch which people raise light, limp weak and take advantage. Can't just sit there wait for AK s00ted push it in and if it doesn't hold up blame luck everytime.

Your 80/20 holds up more then you remember, because that's the outcome that should happen the most, a win. However the times you lose are an anomaly to what you predetermine should happen so those memories stick out.
  16. Actually if u have the stats staring at you to back it up it's not "selective memory", granted that's not considering taking one down pf without showdown, just sayin

  18. I can give you good advice on this. Cause no one sucks at poker on this site more than me.

Its so much a mental game.. You lose confidence so much playing MTT's. This is what you do. Next time you play fire up either a bunch of 90 man Turbos on FTP or 180's stars. And tell yourself your not gonna quit until you win one. Its not about the money its about getting the good feeling back in your mind when you win one.. I cant speak for you but since I play as a hobby.. I just enjoy the feeling of a win. I dont care if it pays 100 bucks or 500 bucks or an FPP satty.. Winning breeds confidence

Just me but w/ this hand why dont you just re raise up to like 165ish or 180 and take it to post flop play, believe me at these limits (same ones im playing) people suck and really alot of them dont know how to get away from ABC poker or playing bad...i see no reason to shove 1300 chips to take down 120? see what the flop brings and go from there...if he calls after that flop then he sucks but those are the kindn of people u want at ur tables.

You want guys like that at your table obviously but when the whole table is like that it makes it tough to get ahead. If you are running really hot you can win but with so many tards shoving on you with crap hands so often it takes a lot of luck to survive to the final table. I usually can get ahead and stack a couple of players playing crap although it isn't uncommon for me to get AA cracked the first time i go all in but by the 3rd time I get my chips in as a big favorite I'm getting stacked or crippled by some idiot that shouldn't have even called my raise preflop, then re raises me all in on the flop with bottom pair or a weak draw and nails it .

I don't know why anyone would play these cheap mtts unless they enjoy pain. I have never shown a profit in any sng or mtt with a buy in less than $5. A lot of people say these games are easy because the players are so bad but in my opinion you have to run twice as good as normal because they are so bad and are shoving all the time.
  21. Ya i've played 1000's of them that's why i just shoved instead of putting in a raise because i knew ace rag is gonna make that call, just sick of going on monkey tilt when the sh!t never holds

I think you misplayed this hand, and it could be part of your problem. You are jamming way to many chips here imo. You got AQ to call, but too many hands that you are crusing are gonna fold, so you are missing out on a lot of equity. It's important to pick up as many chips(or lose as fe) as possible in everyhand. That way when your AK loses to AQ (25% of the time) you don't always go broke.
