Is this really a shove on the flop? I'd like chips in a tourney, and I'm not sure at which point I should have shoved. I know this is just 'ul' but is it better to shove this, or to drag the guy in? I serious wanted calls on all 3 streets.

It's unlucky and borderline over-aggressive on the turn/river.
I think the flop play is okay. The turn and river are based on the range your assigning to the villain. I would have been scared by the heart on the turn and check/called, unless you thought there was no flush draw possibility. And with the board pairing on the river I probably would also check/call as now you're beat by everything in the villain's range but AQ, A8 or Q8. -
I don't think its a shove on the flop - i like your raise, amount seems pretty good too.
His turn bet is a bit odd - could be a defensive bet, or a real weak probe bet, even a made flush making a tiny value bet hoping for a raise from you.
Without a read it's a bit hard to tell.
As played - i shove the turn, he still calls but whatev. -
TY, both of you. I guess it's always hard to get max value without losing your advantage on later streets.
-
definitely shove the turn
-
I just ship turn to avoid having your action killed on bad rivers. If he weak leads a flush congrats to him, but I see him check shoving a flush here. I think you played it fine though just unlucky river. Just call river though
-
Yeah, I was tired and didn't feel like playing from behind (that and I 'could' have still had the best hand, but knew I didn't) :P
