OK I just read a post about BeLow cashing in small MTT and how he said he was donating his winnings to someone for a free PXF membership. Hopefully he was serious, and assuming he was, good for him. It is nice to see this kind of thing going on, not only in the poker commntiy but in the world in general.
Anyway I will also donate the PXF membership fee to someone here on P5's. Unfortunately you will be responsible for the monthy payments, but whatever the start up is , around $150 I believe, I will pay for you. If we can somehow arrange for mindwise to get the money, either from my visa ( I'm a member so they would have this info) or from my account on Stars or FT.
Anyway reply to this, letting the P5's community know what good deed you have done for someone lately, ( Please no BS ).
Lets say it will end at noon tomorrow. -
It's really cool that both of you are doing this.
I wish I had something relevant to add, but the only thing I've been doing is posting a little more in Hand Advice and other poker related threads in here. Trying to help out where I can, but I'm just a noob.
This is cool regardless. -
I foster an 18 month old (19 months tomorrow) who's mother is a degen junkie and his father is a career criminal in prison. Of course this is just as much for my personal benefit since I'm hoping to adopt this child but figured I'd throw it out there.

I would like to nominate BlackBooked. He sent me $10 out of the blue because he liked a post I made in OT. Not earth shattering, but nice from some one I have never talked to, and from out of no where
-
Very nice indeed but what happens if this so called player is p0tripper!!!!
-
I buy 24 turkeys for the local church every christmas......and the P5's community is the first time i have reavealed that to anyone except my wife
-
I like where this is going. There are a lot of aspiring players on p5's that would love to be able to join PXF. I would be willing to donate a membership fee also. However, it would be cool if someone did a private tourney and the top 3 or whatever would all recieve a free PXF membership. Im sure their might be some other players that might donate to this..
Xmas in August if you will

This is really cool what you guys are doing. I would guess, however, that really good karma goes for people who don't have to brag about their accomplishments but rather are nominated by others. I don't know this person at all, but I have tremendous respect for how much thankless effort the player known as TheEngineer on these forums has put into fighting for American poker rights and continuously updating the public on these efforts. If this person doesn't have a membership, I would throw my vote that way.

i am helping to raise money for a young man who is a local highschool football player. he was paralyzed from the waist down in a 4-wheeler accident a month ago. there are about 4 benefits this week and end of last week to help collect donations. we are looking for cash and people to help build ramps and redesign things around the house such as widen hallways and the bathroom.

^^^not rich by any means but I can ship you 5$ to help out dangood1, lemme know :)

this is awesome guys, helping restore faith in humanity one small piece at a time... now why cant the news cover something like this, in fact cant we contact the staff and play it up? maybe even throw a fundraising tourny for the guy in the wheel chair? I have to think so.... helping others and poker all at once, sounds win\win
Ok so i was thinking more about this, why dont we contact pXf and see if they would be willing to donate a couple of initial memberships and anyone else who is willing to do so throw one in... then we can hold a tourny on stars or something with like a couple dollar entry fee and send the proceeds to the football player... anybody know how to do this?
Ok i emailed sandy, ill let you know when i hear something -
Wow, well done gutshtallin and wmmcl. It is nice to see others jumping in here, although it was not my original intention, I love it. Perhaps tomorrow at noon the community can help decide the 3 ( or maybe more) deserving winners and we can get together with mndwise to sort out the details.
Keep em coming. -
I'd play ina tourney to donate to the football player 5 sure
My bros good buddy got paraylized when he was 14 playing lacroose and they told him he would never walk again and he is walking around like a true beauty.
I'd love to help anyone out in the same situation -
I'll donate one for a private tourney sounds like a great idea gutshtallin! I have been a pxf sub for ~1.5yrs and must say this videos are invaluable to any poker education. Send me a PM if someone is gonna organize this or hit me up on aim: KidIcee. Would love a chance to help an aspiring player/players better their game, like a few great people did for me.

That's nice, but the guy Bel0w is donating a membership to would probably be able to pay for it on his own if it wasn't for him blowing money on lottery tickets and baseball cards.

All the more reason this should be awarded like gutsht said in some sort of private tourney. Or maybe a few people could do a little screening and only invite deserving players in need to play the private event.

Its funny your posting this today after what happened to me last night. Long story short, I work for a cell phone company and a customer of ours was in a serious car accident and was rushed to the hospital. That same day he called the store and said his phone wasnt working because it smashed in the wreck. Normally the customer would have to be in the store, but I decided to drive out to the hospital and replace the customers phone. When I got to the hospital, he was the only one in the room. Not one single family member. I asked him where everyone was at, and he said "since my phone is not working, I dont know anybodies number." So I drove back to our store and transfered his contacts from his old phone to the new. All in all this took about 3 hours of my time. But it was worth it when he told me that now he can contact his family. And he also said that he would be staying with this company for a very long time. I felt really good afterwards. I couldnt imagine not being able to contact your family if something wrong happened. Today most people keep their contacts in their phone, and not in their head.

Well, I recently chopped the Sunday Mil (not a brag post, nec info) for 138k. My BR is only like 150k which is not that much compared to guys like Below, but anyway Im not much of a spender, I play more because I just love the game, but to personal issues in my life I won't be playing much at all starting in september (last year of uni as well) and I don't know what to do with the money at all. I've lost most interest in playing. I highly considered giving to charity at one point and I'm pretty generous with people in my life who have been good friends to me (poker and non-poker). I'm gonna invest much of the money but I would love to give back some in a CONSTRUCTIVE way. If anyone has any ideas...let me know... it might be a while before I come back to poker. I stake one of my good friends in mtts online sometimes because he is very good (Kid_brohiem), but he's smart and stays away from it as a full time job and leads a nice healthy social life. So maybe I'd consider backing someone with CONSISTENT mtt results.. Anyway, any suggestions would be cool. (PS don't give me this "Stake me please" crap unless you have a proven proven record and have people who can back up your claim)
-
Wow, that's pretty awesome of you, well done.

Pokerbrat first congrats on the SM!!! I always wonder why someone with consistant results need staking? Also I would think that someone with consistant results wouldn't have a healthy social life due to the amount of volume they have to put in? I would rather stake an honest person trying to learn and move up rather than someone who can put up results but always goes broke.
This has to be one of the best threads in this forum I have read in long, long time. -
this is a very cool idea. i would definitely be up for a private tourney. i used to subscribe but money troubles (outside of poker) kept me from paying for any more months. they are running a thing where you dont have to pay the start up fee, but i'd def love to play for $150 or whatever the amount is to a few more months!

if u end up doing a private freeroll thing id be willing to throw up another 150 to pay out more than 1 place. Let me kno
-
so everyobdy tell me what you think of this...
I used to run an organization that was heavily into charity work, and honestly I miss it... there really is no more rewarding thing, so everything thats gone on in this thread has me thinking, why not start a charity supported by online poker? we could do some real positive things and improve the image of online poker the world over! I have PM a few of the bigger players I know but Im thinking that it would have to be supported by the community as a whole... I'm willing to do whatever is neccessary and with my proffessional background in public accounting and experiance along with the right individual team members and the support of the community P5 community as a whole we could do so many great things... PM me or post up here and let me know what you think! -
Exactly two weeks ago today, my wife and I had our first little baby girl - Adelaide Grace!!! I'm haven't performed any herculean heroics for consideration here, like pull an injured man out of a burning car, or something of that ilk; but, I am gaining in love and affection one hour/day at a time by selflessly giving my wife everything she needs to assist in raising our little girl (changing her diaper at 4AM, bottle feeding her in the middle of the night when the wifey can't keep her eyes open - well, I can't either, but I dont' mind, as I didn't go through 22 hours of labor like she did!) and doing everything I can to raise a happy, solid, healthy little child...

Like I said, nothing jaw dropping or heroic, but fatherhood (esp. at such a young age, as an entrepreneur just starting out) is most definitely the "hardest job I'll ever love."
And Lord knows, I could use the membership. I got lessons from Jennifear and have really begun to master SnG's. The next step is to begin the process of improving mt MTT game, but I have put off the expense, since the money is better served buying diapers, putting my wife through school, etc...
I prolly woulda kept rambling, but my little girl is awake now and we are gonna rock out right now to some Mozart/Paganini/Brahms/Wagner. Weeeeeeeee!!!!! -
I just suck at poker, GILLABONG on stars

<--- stake me, I'm getting better and I give back when I can.
Not a beg post, just a dream of mine.
