I'm trying to gauge interest in an idea I just had that I believe would make for a really cool addition to the FPP store.
I work as a professional artist and had the idea of making paintings of peoples Poker stars avatars. Would anyone be interested in this if they were available as an item in the Poker Stars FPP store? I know a lot of high stakes players have a lot of cash and have all the electrical items that they want which are available in the FPP store now. I think having a quality painting on canvas of your own avatar could be desirable to a lot of the higher stake 'balla' players and give them a chance to purchase something a little bit more unique with their FPP points.
If there is any interest in this I'll be contacting Poker Stars to see if they would willing to add these in their store. I'm not sure how much they would cost, probably something like 100,000 points depending on size. -
Thud................

so you think guys rather spend $1500 on a painting of their avatar then to get a $1500 bonus??? please sir what are you smoking? cause no one if their right mind would want this even if it was for only 1 fpp.

Yeah if it was a painting of ones self then yeah maybe but not of just an avy
Just not gonna be much interest in this. -
The display window for avatars is too small to appreciate any real graphical detail or talent you may have anyways. You need something like full tilt's interface to do this, IMO

Of course this probably wouldn't appeal to most people, but I'm sure that there are a lot of players with ten's of thousands spare FPP's that may be interested in getting something a little more personal with their points that would act as a memento for the time they spent playing on stars.

I agree, I think you'd be upset w/ how bad your art would look. No offense, in fact I bet a lot of players would love to have one hanging on their mantle (thinking TheWacoKidd and CrazyMarco...). Doesn't the WSOP do a poker merchandise thing before/during the events? I've never been... but I bet that could catch on there. Just a thought.

I, personally, think this is a great business idea for you. However, I wouldn't bring Poker stars in to it at all and would approach this through forums and word of mouth. Do not make a distinction to what you will be painting. Anything new and original is always refreshing to hear about, at least. Anybody who is thrashing your thread can gtfo. GL with your idea.

Thanks for the support of the idea. The main reason I thought of trying to do this through Poker stars is that I thought that they may like the idea of offering something a little different which is related to their site.
I (of course) think that they would look really cool when painted. I've collected hundreds of screen shots of different peoples avatars and am considering doing a series of paintings from them just for myself. I just love the variety of imagery that different people choose to represent themselves. Unfortunately I haven't really got the time to do this at the moment, but if Stars were to take an interest I would do several samples for them to see first. -
I think its an Excellent Idea for a Balla, But for balla players only, Maybe a Supanova Item???? If I had a Bottomless Bank Roll, and Financial Security I would get a Painting of my Poker Avatar (for the Memories Baby). nice one , I hope U can Sell a few!!!
