I was a little frustrated last week when I went to cash out on BoDog for an upcoming Vegas trip and saw that check was the only option and the disclaimer on the site that says it's 30 business days before it can be expected. In other words, a month-and-a-half.
When I cash from FTP, I get my check in less then a week.
Then I see other posts here saying the delay is even longer. There's a post on here where I guy talks about BoDog checks bouncing. And looking at his profile and his cashes, this seems like somebody who knows what he's talking about.
I'll be the first to admit that I play poker for the enjoyment of it as opposed as counting on income from winnings. Still, when I do win, I do want my money.
Is BoDog a viable site anymore if you can't get paid? -
Well my first cashout was processed June 3rd and it says it takes an average of 20 business days to recieve it. I agree that I've gotten checks faster on other sites but as long as you get the cashout within about a month it doesn't seem to be a big deal, at least not to me. If any of their checks really do bounce then that is another story.
-
When I emailed and complained to bodog customer service a couple days ago they emailed me back and said the problem is the fact that fewer and fewer processors are willing to handle accounts (to U.S. customers) so there is nothing they can do... I've been waiting since April 19th and still no check...
-
If that is true, then why are the other sites not having this same problem? Is it because they are a Casino/Sportsbook/Horsies/Poker site and the others are pure poker sites?
-
Seems like I was right
Thank you for contacting Bodog Customer Service.
As you may have guessed, the reason that processors are more weary to deal with us is that Bodog is the one of, if not the
biggest Online Sportsbook which makes processors more hesitant to deal with us. Sites that are strictly for Poker play do not
process as many payouts and transactions as sites that offer Casino games, a Sportsbook, and a Racebook so processors are
more hesitant to deal with us. We have been able to secure some processors to hopefully expedite our transactions however we
cannot tell you whether we would be facing the same issues or not if we were strictly a Poker site as it does not apply to us.So basically, the same things that make it a great poker site are the same things that are holding it back from efficient payouts.
IRONING -
Bodog is no longer worth playing IMO...
-
LOL, that is ridiculous. Bodog IS NOT the biggest sportsbook out there and other sportsbooks don't have this problem. One online sportsbook I use has actual street agents ( real people who work for them and are based within the continental US) who fed ex CASH once a week... or if I lose, I fed ex CASH once a week and somehow the cash appears in my account. The Sportsbook I am speaking of is 10 times bigger than Bodog and I know smaller players who get checks from them in less than a week. Bodog ALWAYS has an excuse but never seems to have a solution. GG Bodog.
-
What sportsbook are you speaking of, it sounds shady. And a dickload of the good online sportsbooks shut out US customers long ago ie pinnacle which was easily the best sportsbook and my other experiences of online sportsbooks were terrible so I dont really know what you are talking about.
But if you expect Bodog to hire people in the US to fedex you money you are crazy! Did you see how fucked those BetOnSports guys got and they werent even doing stuff as shady as that. -
The sportsbook is def not shady its a convenience and I am sure not available to every level of player but they do process checks in less than a week and the sportsbook is MUCH bigger than Bodog, shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out... but back to the original point, Im sticking by what I said: Bodog is definitely NOT worth playing until they come with a solution, its a simple as that IMO.
-
Why dont you just say it?
-
if the money comes, who cares?
-
Why does it matter if I say what sportsbook it is or not? If you don't bet at least 1K a game you won't get the service anyway... I bet with a syndicate who bets very large sums and we deal in cash only with this site but since you are SOOOOOOOO determined to find out which one and you are incabable of doing any deductive reasoning, I'll give you a hint:
Its where the line originates....
now if you can't figure that out then you aren't a sports gambler and are just being nosy david....or you work for the IRS either way the fact is Bodog is FAILING to pay their customers and as long as people keep playing there - they won't fix anything. If people stop playing there then maybe they will come up with a solution. I for one choose not to play Bodog anymore until they fix their payout dilemma - and I was as loyal to Bodog as loyal comes - it was the ONLY site I played until this problem occurred. You can look up my results and see I played exclusively on Bodog, no more though. Seriously I think anyone who continues to play Bodog given the current circumstances, is either a sucker, terribly naive, or both. JMHO -
SEE, BUT IT DOESNT
20 business days for couriered check and 30 business days for mailed check. that's six weeks, for the latter, to get your money. that's ridiculous -
I'd like to listen to your opinion but since you can't even name the sportsbook it seems that you have a hidden interest to put down bodog. There is no government agency on here watching what you type about some sportsbook so there's no reason for you to not put it out there, right? I deposited 500 on bodog in April and now have over 10k and if there's a serious problem getting money off of there I might as well quit building that roll any higher.
-
well i don't know the guy and i don't bet sports like a moron, i'm just looking for solid facts on this bodog ordeal...
-
Just took me 6 weeks and Looking for a site that is fast cash outs how long does it take on stars and FT
-
the only real thing bodog had going for it was the western union cashout and decent overlays. with western union gone, ridiculous wait times to get your money, and overlays falling, this site rots, and i looooved bodog. gg calvin.
-
I cashed out from bodog last month, got the check in about 10 days... don't see what's so difficult
-
I've been waiting on 5K since may 2nd - still no check - called them this week and they told me my check was in a batch that had been sent to a secondary processor and that i should recveive it within a week - we're at 6 weeks now - pretty ridiculous -
Ive never got a check from bodog - anybody know if it takes longer to clear when you deposit it?? -
how much was the check amount tho??? not trying to pry just thinking maybe bigger amounts get processed faster, if thats the case ill wait a little longer and cash out bigger.
-
street agents are the people being arrested.
-
i like bodog i wish it was easier to get hand histories there and they need to fix the table re-sizing to give more than 2 options but it s worth playing there in my opinion
-
Other than Waco, anyone get a check lately? How long did it take? (I put my request in on May 19)
-
LOL @ the guy who said I had a hidden interest in slamming Bodog.... IF ANYTHING I have a hidden interest in promoting Bodog... I made good money there and always used to recommend people play there..... BUT THE FACT REMAINS they just haven't found a solution like the other poker sites have... to wait a month to a month and a half to receive a payout is ridiculous and unacceptable.
Circumstances don't matter and they can run their business however they want. I will not play there until they have an acceptable pay out solution in place. If people want to play there thats their right. Everyone can make their own decisions - all I can say is if less people play there over this, maybe they will be more motivated to find a solution, if business stays the same and people continue to play there and take it up the ass, well then whats their motivation to fix it? -
street agents are the people being arrested.
_______________________________________
lol, rlly? and you know this how? The only arrest that I am aware of was the CEO of Betonsports.com. GL going after the street agents - how exactly do they find them and link them to online sites?
BTW, I NEVER suggested Bodog should have street agents nor do I believe that would be an appropriate solution. Bodog does not cater to large sports bettors to begin with, all you have to do is look at their limits to figure that out and they never let you go over the limit with out Buying points which is chicken shit IMO but I digress.
The only reason I brought up the street agents was in response to someone claiming Bodog's latest excuse was the sportsbook and them saying they were the biggest online sportsbook and the sportsbook was the reason nobody would process their checks. The fact is they are not the biggest and other sportsbooks are processing checks in a week - so again Bodog which claims to have the best customer service - is misrepresenting facts and failing at Customer Service. IMO, paying your customers in a timely manner should be one of the highest if not the highest priorities of any online poker site. Answering the phone and jerking people off with excuses is NOT customer service. Customer service is processing a pay out.
Now lets say the Sportsbook is Bodog's biggest problem - just for sake of discussion - Hopefully they are figuring out a way to spin off the poker and separate it from the sportsbook/racebook because if any new legislation is successful it will more than likely facilitate online poker while still making life miserable for sportsbooks/casinos....
I admire Calvn Ayre and his business and I am confident he is probably way ahead of my line of thinking and already figuring out a way to separate the poker from the sportsbook/casino cause if any NEW legislation passes that allows for online poker and regulates it, etc - I predict a new poker Boom bigger than anything we have ever seen. -
So why can't they start their own payment processor company or their own bank?
Clearly it'd have to be independent from Bodog, but if there's such money at stake I don't see how they couldn't invest the money to start their own check processing company etc.
