    Sorel Mizzi: No, I'm not a – I'm not a cheater;

    gfy asshat

i think Fulltilt disagress with that statement
  2. This oughta be good...
  3. Bleh!! Weak sauce.
  4. *gets popcorn*
  5. Meh, at least they come clean. I guess whenever there's very strong speculations online about something it's usually true (Ap scandal, bd/wubanga... etc).
  6. w.eeeeee
  7. Well I dont think we are going to fully know everything until part 2 comes out, but I guess i take exception the part where Mizzi says that people "want to believe the worst". I dont think people want to believe the worst, but things like this have happened in the past, and it seems like every single time the people are guilty of cheating or violating TOS. So we dont want to BELEIVE the worse, we jsut expect the worst.
  8. people still say "gets popcorn?" Please stop. It's quite lame.
  9. A few minutes of my life I'll never get back... Lame interview.

By the way the only reason they came clean is because they got caught. Had they not neither would have ever come clean and we would have not known about it so please don't be giving them credit for coming clean.
  10. "By the way the only reason they came clean is because they got caught. Had they not neither would have ever come clean and we would have not known about it so please don't be giving them credit for coming clean."

    bingo!!!!!

they are only sorry they got caught

    not sorry for their actions

where is the remorse in this interview?????

all they do is make lame fucking excuses for taking over the account

  11. 2 part interview?? If I was Chris or Imp I would never had allowed pokernews to break up their interview. Wasn't the whole point to get their side of the story out to the public? And instead they release the inerview in 2 parts over 2 days to drive web traffic - seems pretty weak.

The whole interview prob could be summed up with....we cheated....tried to lie about it.....gloated about the victory on the forums.....got caught.....and are sorry.....that we got caught.
  12. I guess I am confussed and probably just don't understand the diffrence or the situation that well, but Mizz says that he had never done anything like that before. What happend with the mattg thing then? Isn't it the same thing?
  13. so they cheated. got caught. then took some time to think of a good explanation and now we will all forgive them?
    blacklist sorel
  14. so in the interview, he's claiming that mattg is blatantly lying in his claim that imp took over in the ub tourney?
  15. I want to hear Chris Vaughn go back on PokerRoad Radio and explain to them why he BLATANTLY lied to them when they came right out and asked him if he was involved in ghosting or any other form of TOS violations.

    K.
  16. they needed 2 parts to have more time to think of a better ending to the story.
so cheating is legal now? i love the "i lost connection so i pretty much let imp play it out"
not his exact words but its nice to know that you can have one of the best in the game take over for you if you lose connection. such bullshit!
  17. Hodge,

Number 2 and number 3 in your post is fucking retarded!

But who here doesnt break rules because its so unlikely they will get caught?
I dont break the rules and I would hope a lot, not just in P5 and 2+2, but the entire poker community wouldn't cheat.

I think almost everyone here would do what both of them did if they were in either of their shoes..not ALL. but most.

No I don't think almost everyone here would do what they did. I would hope if a person got down to the final 3 tables, they would continue to play it out themselves. There is a sense of accomplishment in taking down a tournament when you do it on your own.

If you dont win, you gave it your best shot and you move on.

So Hodge, GTFO with this BS post!
  18. Yep, he lied obviously.
  19. I understand that the interview has been transcribed verbatim from a recording of their interview, but transcirbing it word for word makes it somewhat difficult to read and also has the (un)desired effect that it makes SM and CV's admission have less conviction for some reason.

Has anyone else had this interpretation of the interview or am I just over analysing?

Part of me thinks that this may have been done deliberately by PokerNews, as I think if they removed the "ums" and "ehs" their answers would carry much more depth. But then again I'm not sure if this was deliberately contrived or not.

I guess we'll be in a better position to know when Part II is published.

So I've gone round in circles and am back where I started. Oh well.
  20. It is not a BS post. People are going on these guys cases hardcore when soo many of you would do it when it actually came down to it. Like seriously? If your either of these guys. If you make only like 40k a year, and only meh about your poker game and then a player offers you a good deal to take over? Would you serrrriously say no? I think its absurd to say you would instantly say no for ANYONE. Most donkeys on this site will never come close to that amount of money in a tournament. Or if your a really good player and you get an oppurtunity to play in like the second biggest tourney on the net and you know your plus ev and the guy would say yes? would you really say no? However this is based on you not previously playing in the tournament. You can judge these guys all you want but most of you are just fuck tards who in their situation would do exactly what they did.

All I am saying here is these guys are not the anti christs. The amount of hate they are going to get is not deserved. I bet you SO many of the top players you love and adored multi accounted before it became such a big deal. I bet you alot of the top players buy each other's accounts but will stop before its a big deal.

What they did was wrong definitely. They deserve the money being taken away. But I think that is where the punishment should end.
  21. so did pokerstars not do anything about the 2nd account buying incident?
  22. ^^I think somebody has a man crush ^^
  23. Sorry to say but that was a piss poor interview. I guess I expected Sorel to be a better spoken person than what I read. Answers seemed fake and I didn't get the impression he was speaking from the heart or passionately.
  24. I have no love for imperium. dont know the guy. I do respect his game and I do not think he is the worst person ever. You only hear good things on this site filled with negativity. That has to mean something.
  25. Yes... unless there is going to be a videotaped presentation of this interview it's a ridiculous format. It makes them sound like idiots and doesn't do justice to an apology. They both would have been better served writing their own apologies on a board.

I know no one wants to be misquoted or misinterpreted but this is the worst interview I've seen since Lester Hayes won the superbowl.
  26. Hodge.. first of all, if a person only makes 40k a year, either from a job or playing online, they arent rolled properly enough to play at the level Sorel plays on.

Secondly, if I was in the final 3 tables, and he IM's me asking to buy my account for say 30k (winner gets 200k) I would turn him down. Sure, the 30k would help out, but I'm a competitor. Always have been in both golf and bowling and online poker is no different!

I'm going to continue to play in my account and do the best I can. If I take it down, I have a great sense of satisfaction that I DID IT ON MY OWN! No one would be able to take away my win.

Obv, you dont seem to understand that.

The amount of hate they are going to get or are getting is DESERVED! They know its against each sites TOS and if they get caught, like he did, then they should be getting hated on.
  27. If they make 40k a year, they can still have a fair sum in the bank. They also may have some poker money set away.

Well that is very good of you if you are telling the truth. However MOST in this community would not do the same. I guarantee like 95 percent of the ppl who are going to trash Imperium and Vaughn would do it if they were in their situation

I dont understand what? Sorry if MAYBE you are an outlier...

I guess if i have to go to the bathroom and let someone take over, OH GOD. or if i ask a friend advice during a hand UH OH. ITS AGAINST THE TOS. i should rot in hell. Where do you draw the line? They did lose over a hundred thousand $ and lost people's respect. I think thats a fair amount of punishment.
  28. Your assumption of - Everyone else would cheat so lets all forgive really speaks volumes on your ethical and moral basis.

Assuming everyone else is unethical does not make being unethical wrong. It just makes you a moron.
  29. It seems like Sorel was either nervous giving the interview or just not very well spoken, I'm guessing he was nervous. What took so long for this interview? I thought they were coming up with some crazy story to try and cover their ass, but they just admitted to cheating, so I dont know what took so long? Breaking it up into a 2 part interview is an obvious, but effective way to increase web traffic, but if I was Sorel and Chris I would pissed and would want to the whole story out ASAP.
Oh and Chris did directly say that the reason he sold the account to Sorel was not because of his connection problems, but for prophit. Even though it took a long time and they are obviously only sorry that they got caught, it is good that they are coming clean about the incident.

  30. I think it was a great interview BECAUSE they left it intact and verbatum. People can then make up their own minds on whether they are sincerely apologetic or not, or whether their answers sound rehearsed. I'm also disappointed that Sorel came across really badly.
